Nov 21, 2009 12oz bottle. Spiced fruitcake aroma. Foggy brown-amber color, head fades aways fast. Woah, big spicy alcohol taste reminiscent of some cinnamon nutmeg Xmas liquor concoction. Heavy duty cinnamon-clove taste. A rugged meady Doppelbock. I somewhat dig it for it’s Wassail-like qualities, but I can’t really say this is world class by any means. Big, outclassing most of it’s other Lakefront peers, this is a respectable beer

Oct 17, 2009 Bottle. This one’s been sitting in the liquor store cooler probably since at least last year, so its had some time to mellow and consolidate itself. Pours a cloudy, deep reddish-brown with purple-ruby highlights; head is surprisingly dark brown, but dissipates quickly. Nose is heavy with cloves, ginger, and raw honey...slight nutmeg in the sinuses. Taste is more balanced, with honey and cinnamon coming through, evening everything out. Mild but noticeable hop profile. A bit fruity; plums and dark apple cider notes. I’ve been disappointed in many "winter warmer" beers, but this one really stands out, possibly due to its ABV. Really excellent, though I do recommend trying to get ahold of at least a year-old bottle.

Sep 8, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The look is clear, amberish in color, and has an off white head. The smell s honey, spices, fruits. The taste is sweet, very sweet, fruits, honey, spices. Sort of artificial.

Aug 16, 2009 (12oz bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon, apple, nutmeg, orange peel, and ginger. Flavor of orange, apple, clove, caramel, honey, and ginger.

Aug 16, 2009 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. deep amber with a cream ring of froth. definitely some holiday spices in here, nutmeg, yams and other. surprisingly tart with a spicy finish. not bad on the palate at all.

Aug 5, 2009 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. poured amber/ruby with an off white head and spotted lacing. aroma of cinnamon, dark fruit, and caramel. flavor was cinnamon, dark fruits (plum or raisin), caramel, and a pleasant bitter. a nice full body with a slick feeling. very enjoyable.

Jul 30, 2009 This beer pours a dark red/brown color. The head is at least two inches. It leaves a spot of lace around the glass after settling. The aroma is quite spicy. I also smell fruity hints. A kiss of hops is present as well. The flavor is cinnamon all the way. A bit of clove and a definite alcohol flavor bites on the backend. This beer feels substantial. Which it should since it’s a winter warmer. I’ve spent a few christmas get togethers sippin on this beer. I will most likely be pickin it up again this year.
