3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle acquired in trade with CaptainCougar (thanks!). Poured a deep and muddy mahogany color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, honeycomb, and some citrus. Kinda reminded me of one of those Potpourri bags. Tastes of cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, brown sugar, and citrus. On the sweeter side. Some alcohol in the finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lagerish mouthfeel with surprisngly sourness within a lager. It works, with orange and spices following. Imagine a toned down cantillon. Some beige transparency and quality aromas.

A birthday clown does his best to spread a festive atmosphere, sprinkling loads of nutmeg and cinnamon onto the children, as they look back quizzical...He juggles a few sweet oranges, which is appreciated throughout all this aggressive spice, but, still, the celebrated are unimpressed...In a last-minute, top-of-the-head choreography, he balances a blob of caramel on his goofy red nose and the buds appreciate the valiant effort...A smile, but no exhilaration...

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours chill hazy deep coppery with some ruby edges and 1-finger off-white head. Aroma is orane zest, caramel malt, spices, mild honey. Tastes orange zesty, with a solid caramel malt backbone, and some spices, honey, and hops throughout its life cycle. This one is decent enough to make me glad to have bought a sixer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown pour with a good deal of carbonation. Potpourri aroma with lots of ginger, cinnamon, and orange peel. Syrupy earthy mouthfeel with a tart sticky finish. This hides its alcohol very well but has a little too much spice for my liking. Still a good beer though.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Hazy medium orange/amber pour with a light layer of well-retained short off-white head. Lots of well-suspended sediment in the beer. Oranges and wintry spices were loud and proud in the sweet, warming aroma. Flavor was also powerfully sweet, and the description of "honey, oranges, and spices" is very accurate. I really liked the honey base, and this brew would be great with some rich carrot cake or pumpkin pie. Iíll definitely be picking up more of these for some cold winter nights around the fireplace.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I have really enjoyed trying all of the deifferent holiday beers I have been finding lately. This beer pours a dark amber color with a thin light beige head. Aroma immeditattely reminded me of cinnamon-flavored dental floss. Orange smell was also present. The flavor consisted of spices, hops and honey and while slightly unbalanced it was still enjoyable with a rather dry finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Boozy caramel malt aroma (a bit medicinal while it was cold). Dark brown with moderate head. Sweet orange-caramel malt and bourbon flavor. Very smooth and nice. One of the better Christmas beers.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2013 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, cookie), with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, honey, alcohol (slightly fusel), orange peel. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. First off, Iím embarrassed at my notes, considering I practically list the exact same spices that are listed on the front label...but I swear I didnít read it prior to writing up my aromatic notes. And in a sense that is one of the reasons I rather admire this beer...the spice blend is in such perfect harmony that an amateur like myself can literally detect every single addition...the honey is obvious, the clove is obvious, etc. None of them stick out above the others, nor do they clobber the malt nose. I canít say that I smell hops or yeast, but thatís ok considering the type of beer this is attempting to be. The alcohol is maybe a touch fusel, but thatís expected from the honey and high ABV. Iím not a fan of sweet-and-boozy kinds of beers, but for what this is setting out to be, it performs quite well.
