Commercial Description:
Timed to coincide with the holiday season, a very special lager is brewed with honey, oranges, and spices. This beer uses two pounds of honey per pound of malt in its brew, making it an exceptional fortified holiday specialty beer which will keep for years. The spices and hops balance the sweetness of the honey and malt to give this lightly hopped beer its perfect flavor.

Dark red brown with a minimal tan head. Interesting aroma is over ripe fruit with holiday spices. Flavor reminds me of an old ale in a holiday spirit. Like that style there is a lot going on. Alcohol is prominent and spices such as nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon. Honey can be tasted. I would rather have this beer at the brewery on a fish night Friday but it was pretty good in my living room.

Bottle. Another in a series of bottles from joeybgood. Pours a hazed copper with a small tan head. Nose is very spicy and festive with cinnamon, nutmeg, ripe fruit, honey and sweet malts. Taste is big spices - cinnamon and nutmeg with more honey, light sugar, fruit and light hops. Body is medium and mildly carbonated. Big lingering spicicness. Finish is more cinnamon and nutmeg with sweet malts, brown sugar and light hops.

Stumbled across this one in a health store of all places. Pours a dark amber with a small head. Aroma is full of holiday spices as promised. Ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg you name it, it's all there except for the 9.5 Abv. Body is medium to light and smooth finishing with a crispness. Flavor is on the sweet side with most of the spice coming on top of a light hop flavor. Warming alcohol in the finish. Overall a fairly decent winter warmer.

Draft at Isaac’s: Poured a dark amber color with a little head. The aroma was cinnamon, pine, and nutmeg. The flavor was very tasty, with holiday spices and sweet malt. Overall, a tasty holiday beer.

Crushed with Jakebra at the brewery. Hell, not bad at all. Lots of spiciness goin on in this one and a high ABV to make you happy. A good brew for what it is.

Pours a deep red-brown with a moderate tan head, quickly dissipating to a few spots of lace. Aroma of orange and spices is very much there, but accompanied by enough overt alcohol to be a little bit disconcerting. Flavor is more citrus and spices, especially nutmeg. Nicely malty. A bit fusel, tangy, floral. There’s a lot of flavor, but I don’t think it’s well harmonized. Warm, smooth, and lively on the palate.

(12oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours a murky orange amber, nice bubbles. Nose of nutmeg, florals, honey. Taste is honey, orange peel oil, and hops on the finish but not too bitter.

aroma of overwhelming general spice and espically orange rind. appearance is dark burnished orange, nearly opaque. flavor is extremely juicy but a bit much to sort out. intense ’spice’ from every angle. more of that orange zest but its darkened up a bit by plenty of clove. seems like the honey did well to be attenuated and bring this brew up to nearly double digits which was an utter surprsie to me (and kudos to the beer itself, i guess). hard to figure if this is just not up my alley or if its actually offensive.
