3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours brown-black with big, pillowy tan head. Smells pretty delicious; some citrusy hops with a bit of chocolate and tobacco. Flavors fall a bit short - good malt bill with orange citrus, not quite fitting together. Very thin and a bit flat on the palate. Just didn’t quite all come together.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark brown color with a orange highlights and a huge foamy beige head that lingered and left goo lacing. The aroma was bitter and roasty with floral and piney hops. The flavor was dryish and bitter with strong floral and fruity hops and a bit of caramel coloring bite. Long finish. Medium body. Meh.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
65 cl bottle. Bottled on 11.03.201x..
Pours coppery red color with a large head. Carboardy aroma, hoppiness is quite faint, caramel and malts. Flavor is also cardboardy and nutty dry, some licorice notes and tar. Sadly, feels very old.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours dark reddish brown with a foamy head. Aroma of roasty malts, hints of grassy hops, berries, cardboard and stuffy notes. Taste is messy with hints of hops and loads of cardboard, stuffy berries and earthiness. Finish is mildly hoppy with some off flavors and cardboard. Something is not right here.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice sweet roasted malt aroma pokes through the creamy head. Not a big hop aroma bomb here, if that's your thing. A crisp finish with a nice bitterness lingering long after. This beer is a Nicky drinkable black ipa. My bottle may be a bit aged as there is almost zero hop aroma coming through. I'll try warming it a bit.

12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s. Black appearance with a lingering tan head and sticky lacing. Aroma of chocolate, citrus, caramel, pine, floral notes, roast and dark malts. Similar flavor, nicely balanced bittersweet flavor. Medium body with a roasty, mild bitter finish. Pretty solid overall.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. Nothing special here -- semi-admirable on taste but lacks the strength of a true black ale.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Brunzies. Mild sweet roasted aroma with light floral hop character. Dark brown-black opaque with thin creamy lacing tan head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Starts and stays sweet with molasses, chocolate, roasted barley. Big hop note, bitter throughout. Sweet finish with lingering coffee and hop bitter after. A bit sweet for black IPA but well done.

1.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Nifty label on this bottle. Pine supported aroma. Big and black. Taste is nasty Nellie imperial stout with hops. Terribly on style. Some co2 almost makes this palatable. Long lingering crescendo finish, annoying.

Black pour from 12oz bottle at home. White head. Sweet floral and roasty coffee flavor, good hops. Malty and slightly nutty. Very enjoyable beer.
