looks like apricot nectar in the glass with a little bit of pure white head. almost has an apricot nose but mainly an aroma of tangy citrus. favor and character of a respectable American ipa ie: grapefruit a bit of tang, chalk and a bit harsh. nice heavy look to the brew in the glass as i have eluded to. good brew good price! a perfume rather than a sweetness.

Pouring half a bottle yields one third glass of apricot-colored beer and two thirds cauliflower foam. Herbal, minty, and spicy orange peel hop nose, also Triscuits. Unexpectedly sweet flavor… doughy malt, honey, citric hop. Juicy, sugary palate with carbonation to spare. Oily marmalade finish, mossy aftertaste has an impression of creosote or old motor oil. Pretty okay, but the oversweet taste ruined it for me.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 3/3/10

Aroma: Aroma is mostly floral hops and caramel malts, toasted malts, and resin
Appearance: A caramel-orange color with a thick, foamy white head that leaves lots of lace
Flavor: This one is medium sweet, medium bitter, floral and resin, with a lot of balance
Palate: Medium body, with a crisp finish, it has a smooth and creamy feel to it
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid IPA. More of a creamy floral and resiny IPA then a sharply bitter or hoppy IPA, but a good example of that type of beer. It is not a hop bomb, but it is well crafted and has a good balance to it.

craftycarl21 (1584) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 27, 2010
Cloudy light brown pour, small white head. Aroma holds a disappointing soapy quality, with some floral and citrus hops and some light caramel malt. Flavor is pretty poor as well, with biscuit, caramel, and some more soap. Light palate. This is not a good beer.

oteyj (1753) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 27, 2010
hazy orange-copper with a lively white froth that dissipates rather quickly. The aroma is soapy with moderate hop presence and a very light caramel malt component. The flavor is much the same- a biscuity caramel note makes itself known white ultimately, soap prevails. Some fruity nectar balances out a woefully light hop presence. The palate is medium with a chemical mouthfeel and a clean, non-existent finish.

Refreshing grapefruit aroma with floral notes and some hoppy goodness. Lots of suspended yeast with an amber opaque color. Refreshing, light taste with some hops bursting at the end. A very solid IPA.

Pours a proper looking thick head with a hazy, muddy brown body. When I first poured this beer, I could smell it from way off, but then upon examining the actual aroma, I found that it was kind of nondescript... hops and some fruits in the aroma. Taste has some moderate hops that leave a lingering bitterness in the mouth. Semi-sweet fruit notes are present as well, as well as a barely noticeable malt undertone. Kind of has a bubblegum feel to it at first. Medium bodied.

12oz bottled W2 Sep - Cloudy orange, thin white head, citrus nose, slight hop kick, swiss cheese waxy bitter finish. This is no IPA.
