From bottle. Pours a very dark copper with about a half-finger of off-white head. Nose is pine, bread and maybe some caramel. Heavy, slightly oily mouthfeel. Very good balance, clean finish. Pretty good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beautiful dark golden color with very slightly off while head. Darker than a lot of IPAS, but not a negative thing. Great aroma of citrus, but lacking the huge dry hop punch of many top notch IPAs, but still very pleasant. Mouth feel is a little heavy and thick for my tastes. Not that odd in a Midwest IPA, but I tend to prefer the very dry west coast versions. Great flavor with excellent balance. Great IPA for when you want a good American hop presence, but not too in your face and well balanced with malt. One of my favorite lakefront beers.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A decent IPA. Not as much hops as I usually like but not bad at all. Seems well balanced. Nice aroma and color.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a fairly clear amber/gold with a good, long lasting, creamy head. Nice aroma of citrus, pine and caramel. Sweet fruit comes through with a balanced bitterness. All good, but there is something missing, a thin note in the middle, although it finished nice.

Pours a hazy amber with minimal head, citrus smell and tastes a bitter orange peel. Nice hoppy aftertaste. Overall an above average IPA.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours clear, medium orange amber. Medium to small creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, moderately dank fruity; caramel, overripe citrus, sugar. Flavor is dry stale bready, overripe citrus. Medium to light body. Not much bitterness. Quite sweet. Doesn’t measure up.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Either I’m suddenly developing a taste for IPAs or this is a very good beer. A nice crisp start with a perfectly bitter finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
DATE TASTED: December 5, 2013... GLASSWARE: Howard’s Pub glass...OCCASION: the night before Trans-Siberian Orchestra with Bob and Jer... APPEARANCE: hazy, almost unfiltered amber-orange body; thick, craggy two-finger head lacing is erratic... AROMA: fragrant, floral hops; more exotic citrus than the standard orange/lemon zest; some apple as well--welcoming... PALATE: medium-bodied; warming and full--a bit of bubble too...TASTE: sour and bold; strong for a simple India; strikes a nearly perfect balance between East and West Coast varieties--some pine some lemongrass late...OVERALL: like its label, workmanlike and more than serviceable; not an IPA I was expecting to seek out again, but like many of the mix pack brews from Lakefront, a definite plus......plus,, the alcohol is such subtle stuff at 6.9%!
