3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ernest (5187) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 17, 2008
Bottle (Jan 08 bottling).
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is light to medium amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent.
Pretty ordinary, American, citric rendition; plenty of hops in the nose and finish, but not much depth under them. Nice mouthfeel though.

A Tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. Another basic IPA. One of the better brews from Lakefront. Nothing great but good enough to have again.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JB175 (1665) - Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 12, 2008
Bottle from valpoaj - thanks!! This one pours to a slightly glowing orangeish-amber color with a soapy white head. Aroma has a some floral, pine, and gentle citrus notes along with some sugar. Flavor is a pleasant sweet lemon-orange-grapefruit hop mix with a bit of herbiness and light malt. Long hoppy finish. Pretty good IPA.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 notalush (3751) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 11, 2008
Thanks to valpoaj for the bottle - hazy copper beer, with a soapy, lasting head - fairly sprucy/piny aroma, with a green hoppy character, some grapefruit, mild biscuity malt - tastes a bit artificially bitter and metallic up front, followed by some very citrus-like hop flavor (grapefruit, mostly) - the malt backbone is not strong enough to support the bitterness, so the bitterness starts to feel dry and astringent on the tongue - some bready flavor arrives late, and a little bit of caramel pops up that fills out the flavor a little more - some alcohol warmth in the finish makes me wonder what the abv is - overall, not quite balanced, and a little thin through the middle, but it’s pretty good for a lakefront product.
4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 jabrewing (11) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 9, 2008
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2008 OK. this is a really kick ass IPA! The beer is a perfect example of what an American IPA should taste like. It has a fantastic balance of malt and hop harmony. Huge bouquet! Aroma is very floral and piny from obvious dry hopping. The smell reminds me of camping in the Colorado mountains in the summer. Unfiltered straw color with a creamy head. Taste is like grapefruit with a dash of sugar. This beer is a great session IPA. I knocked back a six with a buddy very easily!

This is a great IPA. Nice caramel amber in colr with a thick frothy white head. Aroma of citrus and pine. The flavor is well balanced between the caramel malts and citric hops. Warm and creamy mouthfeel with a crisp finish. Tasty. Thanks Adam.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 entropy666 (11) - Terre Haute, Indiana, USA - MAR 1, 2008
Nice full head that held up until the finish with powerful citrus and terpenoid notes in the aroma. The aroma is especially nice- just the way an IPA should be. It could stand a little more maltiness and has a rather thin mouth feel. All in all a good IPA.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hayduke (2541) - Eureka, California, USA - FEB 29, 2008
New brewer and beer for my area. Picked up a six pack. Poured a golden color with a huge big bubbled head and lacing that coated the inside of my glass. Very strong nose of citrus hops, with a background of flowers and pine. Rich and fairly high carbonated mouthfeel, and quite refreshing on the tongue. The flavor is dominated by the citrus hops, Dry and bitter finish rounds out what I consider to be a very nice IPA. We need a photo I see.
