3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: APR 19, 2010 The aroma is hoppy with grass, citrus, and caramel malt. The appearance is hazy amber gold with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma with an emphasis on grass. The palate is thin but smooth. Overall it’s very decent.

Thanks to Ian for this. Cloudy copper pour with a thick white head. Thick chewy grassy citrus hop aroma. Taste is light malty chewy hops, citrus and grassy hops. Very nice, solid IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy, dark amber with a ton of fine suspended sediment and a loose, frothy, off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly depositing patchy lace in its wake. The aroma is a pleasant blend of citric and piny hops backed by pale malt. On the light side of medium-bodied the palate transitions from a soft, almost creamy, texture while it sits on the tongue to a nicely balanced yet pleasingly bitter finish. This is a very quaffable IPA. Round, almost sweet pale malt front a quick hit of citric and piny hop bitterness that lingers for just a while after the swallow. This is one of those beers that comes across as greater than the sum of its parts; a great everyday drinker. I can see why theisti holds a soft place in his heart for this one.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from John’s Market in Portland, OR. Brassy gold color with a large off-white head. Lots of pine in the aroma. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is slightly sweet with a good dose of hop. Finish is clean. Refreshing after an evening of mostly lagers. Wouldn’t be my first choice for an IPA, but not my last choice by a long shot.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a slight hazy deep copper with a lasting medium head and some slight lace. Aroma is not really skunk, but initially some weird sulfur, then some solventy cleanser, and light citrus hops. More citrus hops, weird slight cascade metallic tang to it, earthy dirtiness, some light medium crystal sharpness in there- and a bit muddled. Finish isn’t really that bitter, but a bit slick and tangy. Meh.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Hazy orange colored body. Musty and wet bready hops in the nose. Medium to full body, wet bread and chewy caramel malt up front, more of a green veggie flavor on the back. Full on musty, earthy, dirty hops throughout. Medium bitterness, nothing outlandish. Decent enough.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
bottle. I poured it in the bushes. A "bush pour" I guess. Weird off flavors. Just wasn’t very good.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: AUG 17, 2008 I drank one of these out of a bottle at the brewery and another on tap at the Locust Street Festival and both times it was off. However it was the best beer available at Summerfest. To inconsistant to give a good rating.
