Smells citrus and yeast. Pours cloudy light amber with a cream colored head. Tastes malt and hops....not very bitter. Lacks in each of the areas of interest for a typical IPA...still a fine brew all around.

Long Island, NY - 12 oz. bottle poured a dark burnt orange color with moderate head and nice lacing. Aromas was very hoppy with fruity flavors. Despite the high ABV it goes down smooth. A fine IPA production. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy dark amber/orange. Has a very fresh, citrus/floral scent. True IPA aroma. Fairly sweet with a solid bitter finish. Overall...very good. I continue to be impressed by lakefront.

Golden color, thin off-white head. Aroma of strong pineapple. Taste is hop-forward pineapple citrus, sweet malt, mildly bitter finish. Creamy and full-bodied.

While this is an overall decent IPA, the finish left a little to be desired. I could have used a little more hops bitterness in the finish, and it was not as dry as I would have liked. I can definitely pick up on the Crayola flavor that the last reviewer wrote about. It’s not as unpleasant as it is strange. Not a bad IPA at all though. I think that the 87 rating is about right.

1. Look – A medium amber color IPA with a small white head. 2. Sniff – It a big caramel malt nose with a citrusy and piney hop aroma. 3. Sip – This medium bodied IPA is initially sweet upfront and has a piney and grapefruit finish that is long lasting. This IPA has a more interesting hop flavor in comparison to other mainstream IPA’s and it has a more dry taste as well. 4. Another Look – This is average looking IPA with weak lacing. 5. Evaluate – Overall, this is a very enjoyable IPA. I particularly like this IPA because it has a beginning, middle, and end which keeps me interested in this ale. I would recommend this IPA to family and friends because it is a tasty and easy to drink ale for those who enjoy dry and mildly bitter IPAs.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2009 12oz. Brown straw, slightly cloudy due to yeast at bottom of bottle. Apricot and lemon nose besides hoppy resin, little noticable malt. Flavor has golden grain in the middle somewhere, tingly hops first and a lasting bitter finish. Malt character is very subtle but a big part of the overall flavor. Complex and delicious! I just noticed that it’s 7%, it’s so balanced I never would have guessed that high. Would definitely go out of my way to buy. Yay beer! Update on 12/12 Draft at Lakefront. Definitely dryhopped. Certainly the most flavorful of their line. Balanced, malt is light but in the background giving hops center stage. Yay beer!

Chronoflash (76) - New York, USA - JUL 19, 2010
Pretty hazy copper body below an off-white mild one inch head. Aroma is strong on the grassy hops, with a firm toasty malt backbone. Some citrus and brown sugar-like sweetness round out the nose. Medium-light body with good carbonation. Flavor is pine and earthy hops, with a distinctive oakiness that mixes well with the subtle malt background. Hop bitterness is of a high, IPA style, though certainly not overwhelming, and carrying through into the finish. A very delicious and well balanced IPA. Well crafted, and definitely will have again.

Bottle. Pours a thick, hazy burnt orange color. Wonderful aroma dominated by pineapple and citrus hops along with some more grassy notes. Taste is nice and bitter; very earthy. Some faint traces of brown sugar.

Pours a nice orangey color, with decent head retention. Creamy mouthfeel, goes down nice. Quality IPA, with lots of floral and grapefruit notes. Slight bitterness in the finish, and I was overall pleasantly surprised by this gift six-pack from my friend Matt P @ WF in Oak Brook.
