12oz bonus bottle from a trade, thanks. Pours clear copper with thin gold edges and small thin tan head. The aroma swims with tepid levels of tangelo and grapefruit as well as earthy to dank spicy hops. I like it as it seems to have pleasing levels of Columbus type hops in the aroma. The taste feels thin and ushers in modestly bitter grapefruit hops, spicy hops and a bit of pine hops to midway just as the malt sweetness kicks in. It seems to take on a largely pine hop feel half way thru and into the finish.

Tap State Fair ’05. Near copper color with a creamy light beige head. Fresh hops aromas mingle with mild caramel. Nose detects mild citrus (mostly orange and touch of grapefruit) and hint of pine. smooth and creamy feel. Sweet malts hit the mouth running and are slowed promptly with a full grapefruit barrage. Finish is quite smooth and returns back to its malt roots. An IPA to relax with.

Sampled on 7/20/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is orange, citrusy and fruity. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. The hops are citrusy and floral. Nice carbonation. Hints of orange and orange peel throughout. A nice well balanced solid IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber beer with a nice cream colored head. Light grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and light grape flavor with light pine and light malt. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Grapefruit lingers with light caramel and light pine.

Draught @ Capone’s: Aroma was sweet. Smells of caramel malts, cream, and fruity hops. Poured copper/amber in color with a small to medium-sized white head. Lightly sparkling. Slightly hazy. Excellent lacing. Lightly bitter, lightly sweet flavor. Tastes of Ringwood yeast (?), cream, hops, fruit, and toasty, sweet malts. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Fruity, hoppy, finish.

Picked up a six-pack at Discount Liquors in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden orange brew with a medium sized, off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of grapefruit zest, a touch of caramel malt, light pine and some orange zest. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with some grapefruit zest and grassy hop character. Finish has a semi-dry hop bitterness that slowly disappears. A solid IPA and worth picking up.

Medium gold body with a dense off white head. The aroma is some light grapefruit but also some smelly, sweaty gym shorts. There is some acrid strangeness where old sweat is closest descriptor that matches. The taste is light hints of bread crust and salted grapefruit rinds. There is no malt balance for the nasty tasting hops. Another load from Lakefront.

Bottle @ Beerfest Asia. Bright gold with nice lacing. Bright hop aroma has some cannabis. Drinkable body has slight chewiness. Very nice, but a little syrupy for my tastes. Nothing special but is a solid hoppy brew.

[Draft @ Capones] Poured an amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, citrus fruits, floral hops, toasted malts, and buttery toffee. Taste of citrus fruits, pine, caramel malts, grass, diactyl, and finishing with a grapefruit bitterness. Unfortunately the keg this was served out of seemed to let enough air in to begin the butteriness.

Nice moderate citrus, floral and doughy nose. Pretty straight forward, but solid. Golden pour, hazy, thin head and lace. The flavor is nice and citrusy, doughy malt, and a floral finish. Medium lingering citrus/floral hop flavor. Very drinkable at 7%. Solid stuff.
