Clear orange pour, big white head. Candied orange and tangerine nose, sweet a juicy. A little tropical, with peach and also pine. A bit on the sweet side, but not overwhelming. Doesn’t taste too different from the aroma: tangerine and sweet orange, a tropical note in the middle, and a cedary grapefruit rind finish. Very likable.

Lakefront Brewery, Inc.--Lakefront IPA India Pale Ale--2011 12 oz. Bottle. 6.40% ABV per Beer of the Month Club Newsletter. 6.9% ABV on Web Page. 55 or 38 IBU’s depending on calculation method. (4.0 / 5.0) Rocky lacy white head. Cloudy dark orange color. No sediment. Rich aromatic floralherbal citrus hop front. Creamy mellow smooth sweet mild hop resin fruit citrus estery body. Refreshing clean dry mellow hop spice orange fruit end. Lots of aroma hops. Minimal bittering. Wheat ester hint? Well made and smooth. Might age poorly. Sampled 2/6/2011. New brewer and beer for my area. Picked up a six pack. Poured a golden color with a huge big bubbled head and lacing that coated the inside of my glass. Very strong nose of citrus hops, with a background of flowers and pine. Rich and fairly high carbonated mouthfeel, and quite refreshing on the tongue. The flavor is dominated by the citrus hops, Dry and bitter finish rounds out what I consider to be a very nice IPA. We need a photo I see.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear very light brown with a tanned head. Quite bitter and very hoppy, Shooting from the hip: Simcoe and amarillo? Nice hops profile, anyways. High carbonation. Bitter finish. Good.

Slightly hazy orange amber with a thick, nice sized foamy head. Aroma of apricots and tart citrus. Nice grapefruit hops flavor up front that mellows into a grassy malt finish. Crisp and clean mouthfeel all the way through would make this one a great summer beer. One of the best new efforts from Lakefront in a while.

Bottle---Pours a hazy, dirty orange with a medium head. Aroma is a large burst of citrus hops back with a touch of caramel. Taste is the citrus hop with a soft base of malts, piney hops not noticeable. A decent amount of lacing on the glass. Finish was not very lip smacking and lacking a hoppy oil feel. Surprised and happy!

12oz bottle, surprised alot by this one, its your traditional IPA color, but the taste is dynamic, very reminiscent of a 2hearted type taste, a tad more bitterness stays in the throat than with 2hearted but this stuff is pretty good IMO, must be pretty fresh. bottle conditioned also.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2009 Pours hazy orange-gold, large beige head, suspended sediment. Large, rocky head, well-retained, ring after ring of lace, effervescent. Really, a beautiful beer. Strong aroma of grapefruit juice. Flavor is citrus and pine resin up front, overtly yeasty in the middle, finishing bitter, maybe a bit too much so, but still a fine IPA. Flavor is medium bodied, very fruit-juicy, with a strong hop burn. Delicious.
