In the words of our President and founding father, Russ Klisch, "Klisch Pilsner is a meat and potatoes beer," meaning that though there are no darker specialty grains used to influence the color or texture of this beer, it is nonetheless a full-bodied satisfying all-malt brew. The recipe is simple, but how it is put together is what gives this beer its complexity. The deep golden color and malty flavor come from an ample amount of domestic malted barley and imported hops. The addition of Saaz hops added at the end of a two-hour boil gives the beer a wonderful balance with the accent on the hops.

Light golden color, light white head. Grassy and hay aroma. Slightly fizzy, small spicy bite. Finishes clean. Not extremely exciting but very drinkable.

12 oz bottle. Not the besr pilsner in the world but not the worst either. Try it and decide for yourself.

Pale, hazy gold. Nose of graham cracker pilsner malt and pine hops. Flavor is well-showcased pilsner malt with minty pine bitterness. Clean finish.

Draft at Milkboy. Hazy yellow amber with a frothy off-white head. Tastes (perhaps appropriately enough) as a mix of a Kolsch and Pilsner. Solid pour. Strong blonde toasted wheat flavors. Caramel Challah. Sweet bready notes. Orange peels. Banana slices. Medium-full body. Mild hops. Enjoyed it.

Nose is apple with light honey. Faint pils malt aroma. Clear pale yellow. Taste is lightly sulfuric with a fruity overtone. Hops are muted and beer is dominated by esters but is drinkable.

served in pint glass. A - clear golden color with modest white head of medium duration. T - Dominant flavor is a lightly toasted malt. Subtle hops. Baked grains. Very smooth, soft and tasty pilsner. Not complex or bold but, given that, has a particularly appealing and refreshing finish. Lacks the dryness and bite of a typical pilsner, but I ignored this while rating and enjoying this brew.

Pours a slightly cloudy dandelion yellow with a small bubbly white head that leaves a thin filmy layer. Smell is of light caramel maltiness, wheat, a subtle fruitiness, and sourdough bread. A very complex smell, which the taste follows through with splendidly. Wheat, light caramel malts, and a subtle apple sweetness balanced perfectly with a bitterness that hits after the swallow. That sourdough flavor also makes its presence known. This beer’s greatest success is in its follow through: the taste perfectly complements the aroma, and both are complex and well-balanced.

Yep. It’s simple beer alright. Golden colour with a temporary white head. Aromas of golden grains and little else. Sweetish in the mouth and only hints of bitterness. It’s a simple beer. Probably a little too simple.

"Yet another Wisconsin brew from the PfoxyJohn. Light yellow color with a medium white head and little lacing. Lightly sweet malty aroma and palate with a very light hops presence, almost watery. Thin but again, nicely refreshing on a hot day. Thank you John."

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Appearance: pours a 1" off white head that falls slowly with some mild lacing. Color is a cloudy golden with abundant streaming carbonation. Aroma: pleasant yeasty bread dough combined with some tart hop spice. Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied and slick with a quick, dry finish. Flavor: saltine cracker, biscuit, some fruity sweetness, spruce and grassy hops. Overall: a delicious beer, quite appropriate to the style.

Had this on draft at lakefront brewery taproom. Yellow with white head. Wheaty and spices with grassy notes. Not bad for the style.
