2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 steve23mj (273) - Essexville, Michigan, USA - MAY 10, 2006Pours dirty yellow with slight whitish head. Nose is a bit grassy and strawlike. Slightly musty. Thin mouthfeel, this has the makings of a "Premium" beer, with other watered down commercial examples. Sort of boring. Better than commercially made styles, but definitely not my fav.

Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a small dense spotty white head. Aroma is crisp malts, and Noble hops. Flavour is crisp maltiness, light sweetness, and a grassy touch with a very mild bitterness. Not the best pilsner but an easy drinking patio or beersbie beer.

Bottle:   Golden hued straw, fairly clear, light carbonation, moderate sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Subdued aroma, a little straw and hay, not too sweet.   Assertive straw and hay up front, light sweetness.
Slight mealiness lingers.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Not as sweet as the Boulevard before it, but not bad.   Its a bit more mealy and less sweet than the Boulevard, having them back to back.   Could be crisper,
and less mealy.   Goes down easy tho.

I definately enjoyed this beer. At first the name reminded my of shlitz so i was skeptical going in but it ended up being a rather good beer.

The aroma is sweet malt, grass, a little sweet and fat for this style. The appearance is honey orange/gold, white head. The flavor is sweet, corn-like, noble hops, grassy, spicy. The finish is noble hops, lingering sweetness. Medium in body, a tad thick even. Not as dry, crisp and well-attenuated as expected, but enjoybale.

Draft at the Wicked Hop in MKE. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head. Nose is benign at first, some graininess and faint herbal hops, then a kick of DMS-canned vegetables. On tasting, medium bitterness and bready malts, lacks the pils malt subtlety. Also, loads of cabbagey DMS on the palate as well. Could use more bitterness overall and less DMS. Meh.

It’s clean and smooth and has a nice appearance. There just simply isn’t enough flavor to make this stand out. It goes down easy and would be a good starter beer for someone trying to break away from the generic crap out there!

On tap at the brewery. Pours sudsy gold. Flavor is bold malt with a crisp bite and a touch of Bohemian mustiness. Solid pilsner that tastes a bit more Czech than German.

An OK pils, a little grainy but the malts come through, somewhat dry, some hop character. Pale yellow with some decent head.

This German Pilsner pours a light yellowish color as the scent of malts hover over the beer. Upon tasting you take in a good taste of malts with hint of lemon citrus. Not anything to rave about, but not terrible either.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 IslandHaole (1083) - Yokosuka-Shi, Kanagawa-Ken, JAPAN - JAN 8, 2013
Medium golden with an eggshell white head. Mild light malt scent with hints of grass. Nice feel, small bubbles and not too many of them. Well balanced with some sweet malts, not overly sweet, just hints of the old style bubblegum you got with baseball cards type of sweetness with a light spice ....cardamon pods and a mild bitter follow. An easy drinking beer. I’m not a huge Pils fan but this is pretty tasty.
