Pure Milwaukee Genius Series 2: A true Wisconsin Lager - A freshly plowed acre of soft, rich soil. Without a single word it tells the story of a community, hard work, and a fierce dedication to the land. It recalls a time when neighbor looked after neighbor. And it reminds us that everything that we need we can get right from our good Wisconsin Earth. With this in mind, Lakefront set out to try something new, or old as it were - using all locally grown ingredients to create a distinctly Wisconsin beer. Ample amounts of Wisconsin grown 6-row malted barley give this unfiltered lager its hearty body and hazy straw color. Its malty sweetness is balanced with an elegant finish from Wisconsin grown Cascade hops. The result - a flavor that is signature to Wisconsin. So raise your bottle high, toast your neighbor, and taste the soul of Wisconsin.

Bottle pours orange gold with a white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of pineapple, peach, orange, caramel/biscuit, and light florals. Flavor is fruity, grassy, and somewhat spicy. I’m actually quite impressed by this as it destroys the majority of american lagers that i’ve had the pleasure of tasting. Overall body is moderate and the finish is balanced. They should really 6pk this badboy as it is definitely one of the best lakefront offerings hands down.

Man this thing is just earthy. Smells like a whole pack of freshly cut grains drying in Wisconsin fields (yeah, I actually have that scent pretty well squared away in my brain after 50 years hanging around this state). Enjoyed from a bomber. Will have to watch for it on tap.

(22oz bomber) cloudy gold, effervescent, lasting white head. Nose of cereal grain, citrus, not very lager like which is good. Taste of guava, cereal, cream, unique lager, refreshing.

Bottle; poured a nice looking glowing amber color with a very light khaki head. Aroma was quite sweet; fruity, herby and grassy. Pretty sweet and bready; fruit. Straightforward, but not bad.

Nice beer except for the basement aromas. Smooth and mildly bready. I slick mouthfeel to this amber colored beer.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 5/23/13, Palindromic Rating #3003

Aroma: The aroma has spice and pale malts, a bit of earthy hops, some grass, and a hint of honey
Appearance: It pours a reddish-orange color with a frothy beige head and mid-plus lace
Flavor: The taste is much like the nose, it is malty and spicy with honey, and a bit of sweetness to it
Palate: The body is mid-plus, it has lively carbonation, a bit of stickiness, and touch of heat
Overall Impression: This beer is interesting, and it works pretty well. I definitely found it to be decent enough, but score-wise, I couldn’t go too much higher than this.
