Local Acre was first created to capture the fresh taste of all locally grown ingredients for a flavor that is pure Wisconsin. Now we’ve taken this idea one step further in a process called “wet hopping”. By taking hops directly from the field to the brewery, we preserve the original flavor, some of which is lost in the usual drying process. The harvested hop goes straight to our eagerly awaiting brewers who submerge them in this one-of-a-kind brew. The result is an incredibly fresh hop taste and aroma balanced with our Wisconsin grown malted barley, giving this unfiltered lager it’s hearty body and hazy straw color. This lager pairs well with aged Wisconsin-made, Swiss-style Gruyere cheese and with a spicy mesclun salad with a light vinaigrette.

Pours a cloudy gold with nice white head. Aroma is surprisingly malty, but not without its hoppy goodness. Taste reveals a bit more hop flavor, but still not a ton. An ok fresh hop, but somewhat of a let down.

Pours a hazy pale yellow/orange with a hube white head...very light sediment...very nice lacing and retention. Aroma has very light citrus and milldly spicy grassy notes...some light maltiness...bit of hay. Flavor definitely has pronounced hop notes...grassy...and firm pils or light malt backing...a bit sweet and faintly boozy. Mouthfeel is light but creamy...reminds me of a kolsch...and the finish is grassy and spicy.

Pour is a dull murky yellow with a large white head. Aroma is floral hops with some pine. Flavor is at first fruity and perfume like with bone dry malt bringing things up after the swallow. Very hoppy for a lager style and easily drinkable.

Bottle from City Beer. Pours cloudy blonde with a rich white head and a strong floral vegetable aroma. There is a hearty light malt flavor with a little fruit and subtle hop bitterness.

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours hazy dark gold with an off-white creamy/bubbly head. Aroma is sort of dusty noble hop - suggests green veg a bit. Med body. Very hoppy. Malt quite submerged by hop. It’s coming our as very fruity and floral in the end. Nice.

Bottle. Dark amber with a big starting head and lasting skiff. Interesting raw grain scent that also shows up in the flavour. I would have added more hops. A bit of green apple in the nose and the taste. A nice sweetness. A bit of alcohol edge in the finish. A strong tasty malty lager with a nice hop level.
