COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Local Acre was first created to capture the fresh taste of all locally grown ingredients for a flavor that is pure Wisconsin. Now we’ve taken this idea one step further in a process called “wet hopping”. By taking hops directly from the field to the brewery, we preserve the original flavor, some of which is lost in the usual drying process. The harvested hop goes straight to our eagerly awaiting brewers who submerge them in this one-of-a-kind brew. The result is an incredibly fresh hop taste and aroma balanced with our Wisconsin grown malted barley, giving this unfiltered lager it’s hearty body and hazy straw color. This lager pairs well with aged Wisconsin-made, Swiss-style Gruyere cheese and with a spicy mesclun salad with a light vinaigrette.

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours hazy dark gold with an off-white creamy/bubbly head. Aroma is sort of dusty noble hop - suggests green veg a bit. Med body. Very hoppy. Malt quite submerged by hop. It’s coming our as very fruity and floral in the end. Nice.

A hazed golden ale with a thick frothy mocha head. In aroma, grassy caramel malt with smooth British hops. In mouth, a nice crisp grassy caramel malt with British hops, not bad. CASK. On tap at Istmus Beer and Cheese Fest, Jan 19 2012.

650ml bottle. It pours a deep gold with a foamy white head. The smell is a bit subdued but there is some hops int ehre and bready malt. The flavor tastes more or less like an IPA. It has a nice lemon/lime/orange flavor and a slight bit of bitterness. It is sweet and not very but it tastes very hoppy and nice. Interesting brew I have never had a wet hop or harvest ale that was this tasty Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-02-2011 04:55:31

Pours a clear deep golden bronze with a clingy-lacing froth of white head. Has a fresh citrusy orange and melon hop nose with some light malty undertones. Starts with a light malty sweetness and an interesting fresh citrus and melon hop flavor and balance before a lightly sweet finish. An enjoyable fresh-hop lager, much better than the first iteration.

Bomber. Poured cloudy medium golden with a sticky white head. The aroma picked up dank earth and floral hoppage over dark honey and corny notes.. 1st impression was a wet-hopped malt likka.. some underlying warmth was evident. The flavor found honey and bready malts at the core, with peppery, piney, and citrus bitterness around.. more honey and dank bitterness on the warm finish.. tacky, almost vegetal character bank there too.. not very enjoyable. Medium-bodied and fairly well carbonated on the palate.. the wet-hopping was OK, but the base beer was not tasty.

Bomber bottle, shared around the table at the end of the brewery tour. Hazy orange-gold, average white head. Sweet grainy malts paired with lightly citrus and grassy hops, slightly tangy. Tasty.

Bottle at thirdeye11’s birthday party. Yellow with a white head. The aroma ha a lot of biscuit malt in it, as well as a hint of hop character. The flavor has some grassy hop notes and a bit of citrus, but the biscuit malt really comes through. Not bad, but not great.
