COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
My Turn Series #1: Dan brewed a Baltic Porter. Expect this thing to be dark and robust with a malty sweetness. A touch hoppier than the typical porter, the medium bitterness balance the malts and a deep chocolate or coffee aroma stops just short of burnt. If we did it right, this one oughta be one big, full-bodied beer.

Malty aroma, not a whole lot else going on. The beer is dark with a tan, thick, lingering head. The beer is bittersweet, some coffee and chocolate with an estery finish. Not as much hop presence as I expected. Alcohol isn’t noticeable. Smooth mouthfeel, not a whole lot of carbonation Overall, a good porter. I’d buy it again.

bomber. Poured deep brown with a well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up sweet vanilla and butterscotch upfront, with vinous notes and date sweetness behind.. light-moderate roast, and a lot of sweetness.. more of a nice brown ale than a Baltic Porter. The flavor found sweet, lightly-roasted black patent and smoky malts at the core, with light mocha bitterness and more smoky notes around.. dry, scratchy, roasty finish. Medium-bodied at most on the palate.. seemed roastier as it warmed up.. not a great Baltic Porter, but an easy-drinkin’ brew.

Tap. Pours to a deep brown body with a thin off-white head. The aroma is chocolate brownies and charred black malts. Some dry earthy character and burnt leaves. The flavor is deep chocolate charred black malt with a light sweet chocolate syrup. The palate is dry and mouthwatering. Mediumfull bodied and pretty velvety.
