COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop-heads are going to love this beer. Johnson made s Double IPA thatís moderately malty with serious hoppy punch. Thatís because he brewed it with Mosaic, Galaxy, Citra, Rakau, Simcoe, and Centennial hops. Its also got an intense hop aroma, and a nice amber-golden color. And letís be honest, if youíre buying a Double IPA, youíre after some bite. This one will double your pleasure.

Bottle. Iíll agree with many of the other comments, this did not seem like a DIPA to me, at all. It wasnít bad but muted hops, overly malty and pretty bland.

Not a bad beer. I really expected more out of a double IPA. Kind of a letdown. Starts great, but finishes kind of weak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Sweet-sour orange/apricot malt and pine/orange peel aroma. Medium yellow with large white head. Sweet orange/apricot malt and moderately bitter grapefruit peel/pine flavor. Nicely blended. Very good.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2014 This is a good one. Pours a clear, light golden yellow with little to no head. Aroma is marked by citrus and tropical fruit, and a very strong, very dank piney hoppiness. Flavor is also very hoppy and bitter, with some fruitiness, and just a bit of sweetness. Quite a bitter finish. Very good.

For a double IPA, this had less of the assertive hoppiness than I was expecting. You could chalk this up to good balance, but it could also just be a poor mixture of the hops which seem muted and understated.

12oz bottle shared. Pours a light to medium orange color with a white head. Aroma mostly citrus hops and se malt backbone. The flavor to me is surprisingly good. Nice hop flavor of citrus and citrus. Mild malt in the flavor. Overall another decent showing from lakefront.

Bottle. Radiant light orange. Large frothy creamy white head. Aroma is spicy/herb, grassy, pine, orange, pineapple. Flavor follows. I think the spice, herb, perfumey notes are at the forefront for me. Dense grapefruit that isnít too sweet. Pine. Finishes firmly bitter, doesnít linger too long. Grassy resin earthy. Medium plus body. Sticky. One of the better Lakefront beers.

Very strong herbal, citrus, rubber soles of new shoes. Taste is light hoppiness, citrus, fairly smooth.

Another solid entry from Lakefront. Some serious hops in this beer along with a slight hint of malts. Not the hoppiest Double IPA that I have partaken, but still a very good beer. Enjoy!
