bamaelliott (5), Huntsville, Alabama, USA does not count Sep 3, 2007 12oz bottle, very surprising that this came from Lakefront as most of their other beers are are great in my opinion. I have to say that this is to date the worst beer I have ever had. It was pure nasty. Save your money. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: New Grist

yellow with a slight haze, whispy white head that’s easily roused to produce some drippy lace, light sweet candy aroma with a hint of spices, good body, nice unusual sweetness, balanced with some light spices, an interesting experience, labeled as a beer made from sorghum and rice extract

Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 31, 2007 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Cellars Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a light golden pale blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that disolves clean. Aroma of mostly fruits and citrus zest. Bery little malt scents. Taste is light bodied, well carbonated with flavors of fruity bread, honey and some barnyard funk. Finish is slightly gritty and metalic and then a watery aftertaste that is not too impressing. tronraner (1905), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Aug 23, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours yellow with fast white head. The aroma is lemon peel, green apples, and flour. The flavor is apples, aspirin, coarse flour. Weird finish and aftertaste. This is no good. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Aug 11, 2007 Cloudy yellow. Big bubbles. Aroma is massive sorghum, some apple juice. Body is fairly full. Flavour is very sorghumy, with apples and alcohol coming in late. Pregunta - how much gluten do hops have that they had to be omitted from the recipe? Yes, it’s not brewed for me but damnit even Celiacs need hops in their beer! beerbill (1918), Laurel, New York, USA Aug 8, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear light gold with a sudsy white head that faded to a white film before mid-glass. Fairly strong grain aroma, which I guess is sorghum since I’ve never tasted or smelled sorghum before. You can taste the sorghum in the flavor as well, which I didn’t care for all that much. Slightly sweet. The strong/sweet grain flavor reminded me a bit of buckwheat honey, although I like the flavor of buckwheat. A bit of a metallic flavor at the finish. Thin bodied. For those on a restrcited diet, I am sure this beer is very welcomed. glennmastrange (805), hobe sound, Florida, USA Jul 29, 2007 Bottle. Aromas of grain and cereal are right up front with a candy smell in the background. Color is gold and the head is fizzy and fully diminishing. Flavor starts lightly acidic and finishes moderately sweet and lightly acidic. Palate is light to medium and the texture is watery with a fizzy carbonation. Nothing special aside for the uniqueness of the use of sorghum for the grain, but I did like it’s refreshing quality. BeerBelcher (930), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 27, 2007 I am not a fan. I will not be having this again when other choices are available. That said, I suppose it would be better than no beer at all, so don’t let my comments discourage those of you who happen to have the misfortune of Celiac disease.
It is a hazy dark yellow color with minimal head. Aroma is very faintly of hops (inhale very deeply) with nothing else to speak of. Flavor is sort of corn syrup-y with a weird cereal-ness which was not very appealing. Mouthfeel is slick and watery.
