radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Nov 24, 2006 Pretty much like a macro, but I thought it was pretty crisp. Odd having a gluten free beer though. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA Nov 24, 2006 Nice golden color, small to no head or atleast it was gone before i noticed it’s size.Funky sort of aroma with a sweet side some appleish thing going on as well as a bit of an aroma i can’t quite identify.Very different flavor, not exactly bad though. The flavor is sort of bitter throughout the tasting, with a bit of a bite in the end and a slight bitter aftertaste that sort of lingers a bit.I might have to rerate this one after a few more but for now all i can say is different, very different and i still have 5 more of these so i hope it grows on me.......second bottle and theres little change in my opinion,it’s still a very strange brew, but i have to give a few points for the effort. It couldn’t have been all that easy to use these ingredients and come up with a brew that some what tastes like beer.I might be a bit crazy but as this brew warms up a bit i seem to get an almost ciderish after taste.Hmmmm. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Nov 23, 2006 This pours like a cheap macro into the glass, with a corn yellow hue and no real head of which to speak. The nose is spot on for Dunkin Donuts Blueberry Munchkins... and I do mean spot on! Honestly, that flavor starts to permeate the mouth too, but not nearly as pleasurable as DD. There are some sours, but corn-like. This just feels cheaply made. I think it’s presence alone turned me off. Weird, but it’s one of those beers that if it looked better, I’d bet dollars to peanuts that it would have rated better..... thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Nov 14, 2006 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of frothy medium sized white colored bubbles that was mostly diminishing and left behind a hazy softly carbonated light orange colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops breads and sweet candy. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. Ofortuna (322), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA Nov 10, 2006 There is a conviction that man’s awareness of death is one of the guiding forces in life. Beneath every surface activity, then, is the awareness. With this beer there lies the impending doom of what awaits. However, beneath its surface lies further confusion leading one into a state of utter despair. This beer fails on nearly every level. OldGrowth (1407), North Carolina, USA Nov 9, 2006 Bottle, from trade with jimbowood. Not much aroma. Lemon, sourdough, a dry champagne thing. Pale golden yellow color, like ginger ale. Small head that faded quickly to nothing. Bitter flavor. Reminds me of a dry cider or a sparkling wine. Lite oily creamy mouth feel, dry finish. Well, maybe if I were told it was sparkling wine I’d think more of it, but as a golden/blonde ale not so much. Thanks jimbowood. pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Nov 8, 2006 Bottle: Gold color with really no head. Sweet, cheap perfume aroma and perhaps a berry flavored girl’s lip gloss. In some ways, it doesn’t even taste like beer. Sweeter flavors of tangified fruits. The feel is pretty thin and doesn’t leave an unpleasant flavor in your mouth, at least. Well, if I was allergic to gluten and barley, I guess this would be ok. But, most likely, I would just stop drinking beer if this was my only option. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Nov 8, 2006 Bottle pours a pale orange with a fizzy coarse white head that is but a fleeting memory after a few seconds. Aroma is of leather and fruity. Tastes sour and cardboardy. Fruity and sweet. Of apples and pears as well. Verry odd. Not as bad as I feard, which is about all I can say. Thanks to Pinkzambia for sharing this one.
I hear spooning with porcupines is becoming quite popular.
