Commercial Description:
An all-sorghum beer. New Grist, a beer for Celiacs brewed from sorghum and gluten-free yeast grown on molasses. New Grist is the first “official” gluten free beer in the U.S., although it cannot technically be called “gluten-free” until established governmental guidelines are determined for all products claiming “gluten-free” status. In the interim, this Celiac-safe beer can be called “barley-free,” and is a welcome product to those who need to live on restricted diets due to intolerance to gluten, a protein found in common brewing grains such as barley, wheat, rye, oats, spelt, kamut and triticale.

Bottle from total wine. Awful. Yellow pour, white head. Smells like lemon juice, hops and grain. Flavor is lemony and way too carbonated. Terrible.

Pours gold, heavily effervescent. The white head quickly dissipates to a few spots of lace. Aroma of apple peel with a little grass. Thin bodied, with a dry, spritzy mouthfeel. Flavor is lightly sweet, balanced by the dryness, green apple fruitiness with a very slight bit of bread crust on the finish. Quite refreshing and drinkable.

Bottle. Poured a golden color with a small white head, no lacing left on the side of the glass. Aroma was rice, malts, and sweet flavors. Flavor was a little weird. Very sweet and some bitter. Very thin body, lots of carbonation. Nothing really to this beer. Different but not in a good way

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear gold color with not much head or carbonation. Aroma is very faint but lightly sweet. Not much else to it. Flavor is sweet and bready with some caramel and apple flavors. Very watery.

Bottle. Pours a pale golden body with a whit thin lacing. Freaking lame rice and metallic tin taste. A hint of apple i guess and some rye and oats. This beer sucks and now reading the description i see why no fucking barley. I am pissed that i bought this crap. It must suck to have an allergy to gluten, it must really suck bad, then again you probably found out drinking butt-weiser and you really wouldn’t give a shit would you now.

like watered down apple cider that someone dropped a rag into. I had to chug it, otherwise I would feel like I had done myself a disservice. Whole Foods.
