Linus_Stick (1459), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA May 11, 2008 OK....I’ll admit I don’t know much about gluten. I didn’t know the government was stepping in to certify things "gluten-free". What I DO know is if I was one of these people who couldn’t tolerate the stuff and THIS is what I had to drink, I would jump off a cliff (or maybe just give up beer). Aroma was nothing but just the slightest hint of grass. Pour was a near clear water with a few bubbles and no head. Taste was sweet in the front and a hint of sour grass in the aftertaste. Terrible.
gipsonc79 (5), , Missouri, USA does not count Jul 8, 2008 My deepest apologies to those with celiac disease. this was truly an experience that I would not wish on anyone. Strong sorghum taste, and makes my mouth feel like I just rinsed it with hydrogen peroxide. Given the gluten free beer options that I have tried thus far I recommend drinking rum. shendrix (426), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 7, 2008 What the hell were the fellows at Lakefront thinking when they put this weird shit together? Were they simply trying to tap into the "wheat allergic" crowd? Looks like piss and tastes like a bland piece of white bread soaked in tap water. Immy (1474), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jul 3, 2008 Richmond Gathering. 12 oz bottle. Gold with a white head, lotsa floaties. Odd, wheatlike grainy. Whatever. sms37gf (2), , Michigan, USA does not count Jun 15, 2008 As a gluten intolerant person myself, i was fairly impressed with this beer. Gluten free beers may never be as good as a real beer with barley or wheat, but in the mean time this is a viable substitute. gws57 (948), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA May 28, 2008 Found this one bottled at the Extra Value Liquor Store in North Aurora, Illinois. Bottled, so didn’t get a good look at the color. A very nutty and complex nose, with a bit of nougaty sweetness. Flavor is very unusual. Kind of biscuity. I don’t really know how to describe it. Sharp but balanced finish. I would be interested in sampling it again.
