cask at DotLA III. haha, my friend got this and said it was just awful. so i took a tiny sip of his to try it. wasn’t intending on rating it, but that sip was so awful and unique that i can rate it easily based off that. it was an awful, sawdust flavor. super hazy and ugly. super alcoholic. weird awful wood everywhere. cedar, sure. brian called it the worst beer ever, and he isn’t super far off.

thick cloudy mily light brown, lots of particulates, barest hint of lace. aroma of wood that i couldn’t identify at the time, but i agree with cornfield that it is cedar (of all things!). flavor has wood, a floral note and a strong alcohol presence. medium bodied, dry finish. intreresting, but not much fun. sampled @ day of the living ales 2009.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cornfield (5277) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - MAR 11, 2009
Day of the Living Ales 2009, Goose Island Wrigleyville (where they ADORE their beer geek patrons), Chicago: This had an ugly pour, a murky light brown body with no head. I can live with that. The aroma was strong and perfumey with cedar, alcohol, and some toffee. Okay, I can deal with that too. It tasted of cedar with a floral bitterness and a whallop of alcohol. Malt? It’s getting harder to handle. The finish was alcohol and cedar, never any oakishnessosity. Rough.
