Aroma of lemon, apricot, plum, raspberry jam, caramel, and toast. Medium watery body with a moderate amount of carbonation. Flavor of apricot, green apple, caramel, toast, lemon and raspberry jam. A sour oktoberfest? Not a bad beer, but definitely not what I was expecting. Decent. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2004 Very basic, watery beer. Some toastiness and dryness at the finish, but nothing to really tell it apart from the other dozen, or so, Oktoberfests in my fridge. Sampled from a mixed six from Discount Liquors in Milwaukee. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 25, 2004 Aroma tends toward putrid. Smelly socks. There is something off here. No visible carbonation. Amber, cloudy body, wth a small off-white head and no lace. The first sip made my nose crinkle. A little tart. Sour and acidic. The finish is better than the initial mouthfeel; there are some positive flavors in there including a small hop profile, but they are overwhelmed by the sourness. Needs a little more sweetness to counteract. howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA

That aside, however, this is a boring example. Not much aroma, little bitterness. Juicy sweet maltiness, some slight astringency or acidity, I can’t tell which it is. Whatever, it’s off-putting. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 19, 2004 Pours hazy amber with a small beaded creamy head. Aroma is very much of marzipan, or dentist office, carrying some fruitty honey sweetness. Acidic and very lemony. Some very dull malts. Sweet chemically finish. Nothing special. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 15, 2004 Neat looking creamy head, nice clean light amber appearance. Sweet sugary berry like aroma, touch of alcohol. Acidic, sweet, fruity. Falls flat on the face at the finish . Average at best. Pailhead (2583), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 1/20 | Oct 13, 2004 Updated: Aug 21, 2007Bottle: Aroma is awful. It’s sour and spicey, no maltiness and no caramel. Pours a dark amber with a head that’s gone rather quickly. Flavor is terrible. It’s very light malt caramel covered up by complete sourness. Based on everyone else’s description, I can’t believe I’m drinking the same beer. I don’t think I can finish this. My tastebuds may be destroyed from the sourness overkill, but the sourness decreases as you drink, but it’s still terrible. This is no Oktoberfest. Worst beer I’ve had to date out of 166. walleye (879), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA
