kimcgolf (824), Dacula, Georgia, USA Jun 7, 2008 Updated: Nov 30, 2008Nothing much to this beer. Poured to a hazy copper-amber color with little head or lacing. Aroma tried to be a mix of malty fruit and hops, but was very faint. Mouthfeel a bit bland for this fairly thin-bodied beer, little noticeable taste, and just a so-so finish.
While there was nothing to actually dislike about this beer, there was nothing much that stuck out either, and it has a lot of growing up to do to become a bitter. gsmitty80 (628), Washington DC, USA May 27, 2008 Updated: Jun 14, 2008Moving along in my experiences with organic beers this one was not as great as i had hoped. It was bitter but it still had that sweet organic finish at the end which wasn’t a good complement for the style. jcr (1137), Jasper, Indiana, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle. Very little going on here. Medium amber body with an average size, off-white head that disipates. The aroma is mostly malty with smells of toast and caramel. Some notes of flowers are detectable. The flavor is mostly sweet with a lightly bitter finish. Medium body with a watery texture. Plenty of carbonation. Nice enough balance, but a run-of-the-mill ESB.
soyorganic (217), Denver, Colorado, USA May 21, 2008 Bottle: poured dark copper color. Initial taste is nice with a slight bitterness, but then not much. Not much body and a little watery. Reminds me almost of a light lager. Props for it being organic though! EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA May 20, 2008 Bottle. Malty, slightly grainy nose with floral hops and a slight bready overtone. Clear orange body with a soapy tan head. Sweetish crystal malt taste, mildly acidic and tart with caramel, bread, and bg cherries. Floral and citric hops. Aftertaste a near-metallic (not quite) breadiness, dry. Nice little lemon flourish at the end there. A little thin and sickly, not a bad drink. Glorified Amber. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA May 15, 2008 Pour is deep golden with creamy tan-tinted head. Aroma is light but of bitterness and a slight earthy note. Flavor is a well blended bitterness with with a slight spicy hop character. Malt is prevalent in the finish. Decent brew. Would drink again but maybe not worth a second buy. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 11, 2008 This beer pours very nice vibrant orange colour with a medium sized head and a moderately carbonated body. Well balanced between fruit and hops. Citrusy, yet moderately acidic. smooth, lightly roasted malts mid palate, finishes up with a pleasent generous hop finish. porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA May 8, 2008 (Bottled in 2/08, week 1, from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/wiscasset/treats/8988.htm target=blank>Treats) Pours slightly hazy medium-amber with three fingers of lightly amber-tinted off-white head. Head recedes to about 1/8" and stays. Aroma of caramel, vanilla and a bit of egg, slight whiff of pine. Mouthfeel is a little thin, fairly prickly but still has some smoothness. Lacing is a bit patchy and scattered. Has somewhat muted flavor of caramel and vanilla but taste seems to fade toward finish. A bit wooden-tasting. Bitterness is light to non-existent, esp. for the style. This really seems like an amber ale not an ESB.
