puboflyons (589), New Hampshire, USA Mar 28, 2008 From a 355 ml bottle with a brewed date of Week Three of August 2007. It pours a kind of amber-bronze without really any head. The aroma is quite sweet, clean, and mlaty. Unlike most bitters, this one seems to have a fruity element to it but it isn’t off-putting. The flavor is bold and of sweeter malts. This one is one of the better samples from the 8-pack collector’s edition Lakefront has oujt there at the moment. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Mar 18, 2008 Pours a dark amber. The malt is a little bready, lightly sweet, the hops aren’t as prevalent as some. Drinkable. ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA Mar 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear orange amber with medium head. Aroma is lightly floral and hoppy. Taste is sweet caramel malts with a little hop. Drinkable, but nothing special. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Mar 13, 2008 Bottle. Poured a small semi-fizzy ivory head that mostly diiminished, transparent, very little lacing, fast rising carbonation, and an orange hue. The nose was hoppy, malty, caramel, and some citrus. Flavor was sweet, malty, caramel, and hoppy. Slightly tingly mouthfeel and medium in body. Quaffable beer, well balanced, but nothing very special about it bottom line and it did not leave me wanting more. Not a bad beer by any means. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Mar 7, 2008 12 oz. Clear copper with a small, but lasting creamy head. Aroma is herb-spiced butterscotch. Smooth flavor is well-balanced: the spiced caramel apple flavor on the malty front is slowly swept away by the softly bitter, grassy herbs. Light-medium body is also well-balanced with a nice dryish finish; has some nice tingle, but a bit too much sizzle and pop. vadavid (131), Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA Mar 7, 2008 Lakefront Organic ESB pours a slightly hazy amber-copper color. There’s a thin off-white head that drops quickly leaving a thin ring, with very little lacing. The malt aroma is strong with bread and caramel notes. I don’t detect much in the way of hops in the aroma. The taste is yeasty malt, a touch of fruitiness. The bitterness is on the low side. There seems to be more hop bitterness left in the aftertaste than was is found initially. The mouthfeel is light and smooth. This was an easy drinking beer without any strong flavor profile. It was on the low side of Extra Special Bitter, but a very nice mid-afternoon treat. SHANER4 (370), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Mar 3, 2008 12 oz. bottle - Poured hazy orange color with small head. Has sweet cotton candy scent, like I’m at a carnival. Does not taste like a premium bitter, with that said this beer is actually pretty good. It should be labeled ESB LIGHT. Slightly ESB taste with thin mouthfeel and lightly bitter. Overall a good beer and very drinkable. mrant (330), New York, USA Feb 29, 2008 Smells light and grassy with a bitter hop scent. Taste is strange, reminds me of some kind of candy or something. Cant quite place my finger on it. Not very good, still looking for that perfect bitter. This comes nowhere close
