I thought it was an uncommon American variety, but I guess they’re German. Very fruity aroma with caramel. Flavor is the same but it’s less enjoyable. Watery body and texture. Not a fan. argo0 (6890), Washington DC, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Bottle. Sweet caramelly malt characters, with a touch of slightly piney, slightly aromatic hops. Not a whole lot else to report. Has a fairly straight forward flavour, easy to drink, but maybe a little dull. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 31, 2006 12 oz. bottle from Shoreline. Drank on 8/1/06. Slightly cloudy. Sort of darker copper. 1 cm. bubbly looking light tan head. Drops quickly to a thin layer of foam. No lacing. Aroma - not too strong, but there. Mostly grapefruity / orangy citrus. A little bit of lingering sweetness. Flavor - high level of up front bitterness. Sort of watered down tasting with a little bit of a sour / grapefruit like flavor. Flavor is more pronounced in and after the swallow - grapefruit, sour, tart, and dry. Palate - light, higher level of carb., and a little watery. Overall - not a great beer. Doesn’t taste at all like an ESB, more like a messed up APA. Way too much grapefruit / citrus flavor, a little tart. Thin body, high carb. Way too much hops. Props for being organic, I guess.
