RAYBOY01 (1812), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 1, 2006 Light maltiness, light herbal and floral hopping, light thin watery texture....that’s the main problem...it’s just too LIGHT! JohnnyOS (646), Golden, Wisconsin, USA Jan 23, 2006 Pours a reddish amber with minimal off-white head; little lacing. Natural hoppy aroma with some herbal notes. Light bodied with a flavor of mild sweet malts, hops and a caramel aftertaste. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jan 11, 2006 12z bottle. Light amber, minimal white head. Apply, cinnamon nose. Medium body, Piney. Caramel. That’s all I got from my notes. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jan 9, 2006 Golden ale with a thin white head. Pleasant hoppy aroma, pungeant herba and lightly resinous. Rather nice hoppy light ale with light citrus and sweet malt. Ligh bodied. Mondiale 2005. rotoguru (93), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Dec 24, 2005 Not "Extra Special" bitter. Poured beautiful "old-school" barely cloudy amber with thin white head (detracting). Light hops aroma and not much else. Taste is not particularly bitter and leaves palate with tiny trace of hops in back of mouth. Very drinkable but not impressive.
Wife note: "Yuck!" hopdog (5525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 19, 2005 12oz bottle acquired in trade with Jcapriotti (thanks!). Bottle labeled, bottled in July. Poured a lighter amber color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of oranges, toasted malts, and bread. Tastes were on the weaker side and somewhat watery with tastes of caramel, citrus and toasted malts. Thin and watery body. Darkover (1308), Columbus, Ohio, USA Dec 6, 2005 Dark copper color with a small beige head. Aroma and flavor of mostly hops with some sweet malt and a bitter finish. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 26, 2005 Aroma was bitter for my nose anyway. Straw body with small white head that disipated. Flavor was a bold bitterness up front but settled down in the middle and some caramel flavor appeared. Not bad but not the best here.
