5000 (2400), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Jan 1, 2008 Bottle: Carmel in color, hazy, moderate off-white head, spotty lacing.   Soft herbalish malt profile.   Soft sweet malts on
the tongue.   Very pale, no hop presense.   If this is organic I get none of that weird earthy aspect so common.   Even has a
very slight pale fruit skin aspect.   Body and mouthfeel are bordering on thin.   This one is certainly clean, fairly crisp, but as
an ESB it is very pale.   Decent beer, even if a bit light.
jason (1506), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 30, 2008 Bottle. Poured a medium murky brown body with thin head. aroma is faint- grainy. Flavor is light bitterness, light hops and a sweet mouthfeel. BelgianBeerGal (904), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Aug 25, 2008 Bottled. Pours a cloudy amber-copper colour with a good amount of carbonation. Aroma is all malt plus a little dusty earth. Flavour is caramel malt plus some roasted notes. Good, nothing great. swoopjones (1115), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light amber with light cola like body. Aroma is carmel malts with some odd out of place sourness. Taste was tart & sour with some onderlying caramelsweet malts. Not sure if this bottle went bad but down the drain it went after a sip or two BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 14, 2008 Decent, straightforward take on the style. I found this to be very pleasant and easy to drink. Pours a clear burnt auburn coloring, with a small but sticky tan head. Looks like a glass of iced tea. Earthy floral aroma, with a semi sweet caramel maltiness, toasted toffee and a bit of light fruitiness that lingers well into the finish. I must have had a fresh bottle, this tasted really nice to me compared to the other ratings. Dickinsonbeer (2514), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Aug 7, 2008 12 oz beer. Porus a medium amber clear, lgiht carb, and a thin lasting head. Aroma is pretty weak- light caramel, some dusty toasted malts, stale lightly orange metallic hops. Stale toasted and crystal malts, cardboardy, with a slight earthyl pine sol and orange cleaner slick feel in the mouthfeel. Dry earthy finish. Tastes old, but was only bottled a couple months ago. What gives?
