Pumpkin Lager is brewed with pumpkins in the mash, spices added during the boil, and lightly hopped. The rich specialty grains and lager fermentation combine to produce the taste and the texture of pumpkin pie.

Pours a lighter copper color with off-white head. Pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, caramel malt, and a light sweetness on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a pumpkin pie spice note. Smooth and easy drinking.

On tap at the 69th Annual Sister Bay, WI. Fall Fest, and dispensed to a fest mug that may have been orange, but seemed to display an orangey/gold color, with off white head froth, and some wavy lacing. The nose was light cookie, subtle pumpkin puree, and nice pie spicing, with a more pronounced cinnamon & clove scent. Light bodied, well carbonated, and hop bitterness that was on the low side. Decent enough fest faire.

Pours a hazy orange with a thin off white head. Aroma is nutmeg and pumpkin pie. Taste is a tad bitter on the backend with a nice pumpkin flavor throughout. Has an aggressive carbonation in the mouth. Very nice.

The aroma is of vegetable and cinnamon. The appearance is a cloudy amber with a thin head. The taste is of vegetable as well maybe a slight spice. Easy to drink, but overall not one of the best.

Bottle from Antenna America. Lots of pumpkin and spice, countered by the light body and carbonation. Not quite sure though. Feels like a bit of citrus hoppiness in there too. Interesting but not sure about it.

Bottle at Chatterbox while playing Battleship and Candyland. Aroma is big on the traditional pumpkin pie spices especially nutmeg and cloves. Pours mostly as a golden orange. Little head. Taste actually pulls back on the pumpkin flavors which is disappointing. Dry finish. Mouthfeel is quickly dissipating. Good, but better pumpkin options available.

Bottle from CBB. Brewing a Kabocha beer so figured I’d drink some pumpkin beer as well. Served in a lager glass. It pours a copper-orange color with minimal head but a nice pumpkin like color. Big coriander & clove aroma with possibly mild nutmeg. Decent flavor a bit nutty, pumpkin flesh and pretty balanced spices with cinnamon and allspice. Medium bodied with a bit of a chewy mouthfeel. Maybe it’s because I’ve been eating kabocha all day but I do get that pumpkin flesh flavor and solid squash nuttiness. I like it. It is much more subdued than your average US pumpkin beer though I think.
