Pumpkin Lager is brewed with pumpkins in the mash, spices added during the boil, and lightly hopped. The rich specialty grains and lager fermentation combine to produce the taste and the texture of pumpkin pie.

In bottle. Nice orangey amber color, smells like pumpkin pie spices. I felt this beer compromised itself by going for both a pumpkin and a spice flavor. I felt it ended up rather squash-y, with a weird zucchini flavor. Perhaps this means they just went all-out and added more pumpkiin than the others; if so, kudos for the effort, and just either add more or take out the cinnamon, please.

Bottle. Clear orange copper with white head. Aromas of caramel, pumpkin spice, herbs. Flavors of caramel, starchy pumpkin, pumpkin spice, herbs. Medium-thin body with slick mouthfeel and moderate, soft carbonation. Balanced, highly drinkable. Great pumpkin beer.

Decent body to this one is what stood out the most. Much better than the majority out there, aside from Dogfish Headís version. Pours a nice deep amber hue and the spices of pumpkin pie dance through my nose. A bit too sweet on the palate, but drinkable. Sad to see that the foam quickly clears soon after Iíve had my first sip. Hard time finding the hops in this one where the spice dominates. I understand it is lightly hopped, but perhaps a bit more to help balance out the sweetness.

This pumpkin is more spice than pumpkin, but it is pretty damn tasty. It's a good seasonal. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma - sweet pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg; Appearance - light copper, fluffy head, poor lacing; Taste - light malt front, balanced pumpkin flavor throughout, spice notes intensify into the back, somewhat spicy finish; Palate - slightly crisp, average body; Overall - easy drinking, not in-your-face pumpkin yet not bland either.

Aroma is more of a pumpkin and cinnamon spice. Flavor really brings this spice out, not really the nicest of pumpkin flavors.

Pours yellow-orange and clear. Very little head. Strong pumpkin aroma, with some nutmeg, clove, and brown sugar thrown in. Taste is a bit of pumpkin, which doesnít hold up very well against the spices, particularly the nutmeg. Not bad, but I wouldnít say it reminds me of pumpkin pie so much. Not sweet, by the way.

Purchased bottle in Menomonee Falls, WI. This was a decent fruit/vegetable beer, except for the overpowering nutmeg, cinnamon, and other spices added to pumpkin pie. This is much like Leinieís Apple Spice in that the motto seems to be "The More Spices, The More Flavor". Well, more isnít always better. As opposed to Blue Moonís far superior pumpkin beer, Lakefrontís lager is too overspiced. The beer looks good, a cloudy orangish color. It smells like Thanksgiving at Grandmaís. The flavor was overpowering as previously stated, too much perfume/sweetness in what could have been a nice autumn brew. Definitely not up to Lakefrontís quality standards.
