Pumpkin Lager is brewed with pumpkins in the mash, spices added during the boil, and lightly hopped. The rich specialty grains and lager fermentation combine to produce the taste and the texture of pumpkin pie.

Pours a mostly clear orange golden with a fine off-white head that quickly disappears. I like the nose. Some pumpkin, good spices, nutmeg, some clove, hint of candied ginger. Taste is spiced with clean light pumpkin notes and a nice dry finish with some lingering nutmeg pumpkin spice. Palate is bright and med- body. A good intro pumpkin beer.

Eh. Nice aroma of pumpkins and spice. Couldn’t really taste it though, just seemed to be a little spicy around the edges of my tongue. Not much to it, really.

Bottle. Lacking in aroma, but makes up it with a very smooth feeling. Not much in flavor, but hints of apple and spice. Really nothing "pumpkin" about it, but that’s a good thing if you don’t really get into "pumpkin" flavored brews. Not very distinctive, but an easy to drink, smooth, unoffensive fall lager.

12oz. All pumpkin pie spice in the aroma, no hint of malt or hops. Flavor is similar except that there is a slight hop bitterness that blends with the spice in a not completely pleasant way. The after taste is watery but the body is on the thick side. Not bad for the first couple sips but it gets harder to drink. Perhaps it’s better on tap.

Nice but a little to sweet. To much spice for me. Not that its spicy but its to much like a really sweet pumpkin pie.... No where near as good as ichabod

I admit bias to this beer. I anxiously await its arrival every Aug/Sept, so I confess impartiality. The beer hits on all cylinders for me. A nice yeast aroma combines with a hint a of pumpkin scent (from a combo of spices including cloves) to reinforce the nature of this beer. The color is a deep brown-orange, which is what a beer crafted with pumpkin flavor should be. It sits nicely on the palate and sacrifices none of its beer-tasting quality to overwhelming pumpkin flavor. Lakefront has admittedly tinkered with this recipe over the years, but I believe the 2007 batch is just right. Strong recommendation, especially for the coming holiday dinners.

A smooth, somewhat light brew that is satisfying and a nice change. Pumpkin flavor at the end is apparent, however I wish it would have been a little more powerful.

Nice aroma of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Poured a pumkin orange with a small white head that quickly disappeared into a very thin fizzy cap. Left a very thin lacing on pint glass. Flavor of pumkin, hops, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg. A medium body, with medium to thick texture, lively carbonation with a slightly bitter ginger ale finish that was long. This is nice beer. Perfect for a cold blustery fall day. While I wont add it to my favorite rotation, I would definitely drink again. Nice job by LakeFront. If you like Pumkin brews definitely give this one a try.
