pumpkinheart (63), Aurora, Illinois, USA Apr 25, 2008 Bottle into Lager glass. Pours a rich amber to gold color with a decent white head. I experience no lacing. Aroma is sweet spices and the obvious pumpkin. Drinks smooth and refreshing with the pumpkin resting easy on the tongue leading to some hopped bitter in the finish. This is a nicely brewed Fall beer with the requisite flavors of ther season blended in an enjoyable fashion. And it was definately worth the patience to get the benefit of the warming qualities as that was when the beer really took off. Until then it was a bit meh. Not a homerun, but an enjoyable brew still.
shendrix (426), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 7, 2008 Pretty passable as a dessert beer. The nose, unsurprisingly, was pumpkin and spices. The flavor was a buttery pumpkin/apple hybrid with cinnamon, allspice, and brown sugar very lightly added in. soyorganic (89), Denver, Colorado, USA May 11, 2008 Bottle: pours light copper color. Has almost and overwhelming pumpkin and other spice smell. The first time I had this beer I was not too fond of it. But on second try it is not bad. Low carbonation and not much body to the beer. So when you put it down, it sort of ends. The pumpkin flavor is nice and not too over the top. phishpond417 (1110), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 11, 2008 Pours a dark orangeish colour with a full generous off white head. Aroma is strong of pumpkin pie, butternut squash and apples. Mouthfeel is light, but creamy. Body is well carbonated, taste is decent, obviously pumpkin infused but not too rich in the taste. Oakes (6779), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Apr 29, 2008 Hazy orangey-amber colour. Bright, assertive pumpkin nose with lots of spice (nutmeg). Body is light...there’s just enough malts to keep this going. Big nutmeg splash. Plus, it has lager cleanliness. Not the coolest pumpkin beer I’ve ever had, but probably the most technically sound.
