Like a Northwest France strong summer ales - quenching and refreshing, but robust enough to match the full-bodied fare of a brasserie. Rendezvous Ale is a hybrid of malty richness and enough hops acidity (Brewer’s Gold, Tradition) to cut through the strong flavors of roasted lapin au moutarde, or a burly beef steak fries.

650ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a finger of white head that settles down to leave only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and other light fruits with some light cereal grains. Taste is a grainy malt and light fruit sweetness with some light citrus hop bitterness present. There is also some yeast that comes through in the finish. Medium bodied with some mild carbonation. A pretty decent French brew from the good ol’ USA.

(22oz bottle) Purchased at Hillside. Pours a quick dissipating white frothy head atop a sediment filled red body. Nose is kinda spicy, warm alcohol and almost banana. Good malt base and smooth body. --- reviewed on RateBeer.com

Bomber. Strong malty aroma with hints of caramel and also orange and some citrus. Pours orange with a decent head, but it fades quickly. Taste is very sweet caramel malt with some orange and citrus undertones. Finishes dry with just a bit of hops at the very end. Good summer beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. Aroma of oranges, caramel, and sweet fruits. Very sweet. Taste of ripened oranges, sweet caramel, and a slightly roasted malt. A bit of acidity but not much. A bit bland. Nothing exciting. Semi-dry finish.

~7 ounce sample glass from a bomber bottle at the Milwaukee brewery. Bright orange-red, sparkling appearance, some white foam, lots of bubble movement. Aroma is fresh, floral, malty, and a little wheat-ish. Taste is something sweet and fruity like strawberries, pears, plus a wit character involving yeast and corn husk. Thin bodied, a tad watery, lively carbonation. Overall, a fine beer, albeit a bit plain. It’s a good choice for those looking for something light, unimposing and refreshing.
