Like a Northwest France strong summer ales - quenching and refreshing, but robust enough to match the full-bodied fare of a brasserie. Rendezvous Ale is a hybrid of malty richness and enough hops acidity (Brewer’s Gold, Tradition) to cut through the strong flavors of roasted lapin au moutarde, or a burly beef steak fries.

Aurelius (5070) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 18, 2011
A lightly sweet, tan malt aroma. The beer is murky, with small flocculent yeast floaters. Bad label, the white head quickly collapses into frogs’ eggs on the sides of the glass. Sweetish, woody, moderately astringent. Medium, candied body. A little grassiness in the aftertaste, but really there’s not a lot of finish. Not bad, but nothing to recommend it and no reason to go out of your way to find it. Tick. World Market, Tallahassee.

22 oz bottle from "LifeSource" S.salem. $5.25 Slightly hazy amber coloured beer with a gorgeous creamy thick creme coloured head. Light spicy, malty aromas.some fruit like green apples and pears. Taste smooth ,peppery, malty, some hop..slight spice..and noticable alcohol in the end . OK mouthfeel..nothing great but acceptable. Overall and OK beer

Draft at Lakefront. Orange-brown, looks filtered. Thin beige head. Astringent mellow orange soapy hop aroma. Hmm...awkward. Oddly pungent sweetness. Really poor example of the style. Doughy orange tones with a pungent alcohol backbone. Rate seems generous.

bottle from keenan 1/31/11. dark orange amber colored pour with an off white head. spotty foam left behind. aromas of orange, dusty wheat, caramel, yeast, pale malt and honey. similar flavor... candied orange peel, wheat, dust/must and bready yeast all stand out. its a bit thick... needs some acid or funk to take it over the edge. 6/4/6/3/14

Pours a nearly clear amber color with a full off white head that diminishes to a skim covering rather quickly. Aroma of fruit and honey. Taste is intriguing and hard to nail down. I’m getting green tea, lemon, honey and cherry soda pop. Interesting rendition of the style. Like it a lot, just treally different. Alcohol present, but not dominant.

Pour is a amber brown with thin head. Smells kinda Earthy sweet and sour kind of like pickled beets. Taste is smooth sweet upfront with ripe figs followed by earth and a tart unripened cherry finish.

11/4/11. 22oz bottle. Hazy amber pour with a small khaki head. Plain, sweet aroma with a touch of spice that almost reminds me of a pumpkin beer. Sweet, slightly tart flavor that reminds me of something I can’t put my finger on... not quite vinegar... not bad, especially for under $5.

22oz bottle from Siciliano’s Market in Grand Rapids, MI. Pours a cloudy, blood orange colored body with an inch thick, dense and creamy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweeter caramel with some pear and florals. A bit bready with a light citrus, dark fruits, and a touch of yeast. Flavor is similar. A sweeter, somewhat doughy and bready caramel up front with a moderate floral note. Some pear, a light citrus, apple, and a few dark fruits. Yeast gives this a light spiciness towards the end that increases just a bit into a bready, slightly sweet, mostly dry finish. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a light-medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, not a bad beer. Well balanced and easy drinking with a solid bready caramel sweetness that dries nicely with a light yeasty finish. Nice mix of fruits keeps this interesting. Nothing special, but well done.

Bomber. Pours fairly clear amber with foamy beige head. The aroma is caramel and toast with some fruity hints. The flavor is toasty with a strong caramelized sweetness. There are some fruity notes, like wild cherry, black currant, and a sort of greenness that hints at unripe fruit. Toward the finish comes a woody bitterness as that sweetness dries out. Some sweet caramel sticks around into the aftertaste, though. Decent, but really needs a tart edge to even things out.

Bomber from Spirits Red Bank. Poured a far darker brown then I was expecting, medium brown body that is slightly murky with an average to smaller off white foamy head. Aroma of bread soaked in chardonnay, some grapes and a hint of nut. Medium bodied with average to stronger carbonaton and a lingering fruity taste. Flavor is very much like the aroma with lots of wine flavors and grains followed by fruity grapes and slight nutts. Solid beer.
