COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like a Northwest France strong summer ales - quenching and refreshing, but robust enough to match the full-bodied fare of a brasserie. Rendezvous Ale is a hybrid of malty richness and enough hops acidity (Brewer’s Gold, Tradition) to cut through the strong flavors of roasted lapin au moutarde, or a burly beef steak fries.

22 oz. bomber that pours a deep orange-amber, eggshell colored medium head. Aroma of apple, earth, crackers, some dark bread malts. Pretty tasty. Mild creaminess to the body. Light, leafy bitterness in the finish. Not really a standout ale but certainly a good try from Lakefront. I’m glad they’re making strides.

22oz bottle-pours a big retaining light tan head with trailing lace and amber color. Aroma is sweet fruit-pear, light/medium malt-bready. Taste is fruit-pear, light/medium malt-bready. Soft carbonation.

Murky copper with and Indian curry nose to it. Surprisingly sessionable with enough balance of spices and malt oomph to make it quite decent. Leaves a wee glow inside. Quite nice really.

Bottle shared by Jcwatts. Pours copper. Tan head. Nose and taste of pear pits, sweet breads, pear skin and malt. Some alcohol. Soft carbonation. Fruity pear skin finish. Medium body.

Nose of faint caramel apple, roasted nuts and dank basement. Taste is bitter fruitiness and nuts. More yeast than malt. Palette is medium and unoffending, but I am just not a fan of this style. This is perhaps my fourth Biere de Garde and probably the best so far.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. 7.2% Pours amber with a foamy 3 finger beige head. Aroma of slightly earthy roast malt. Med body. Flavor is malty with some earthy bitterness. Keeps oscillating sweet/not sweet. With a little time my mouth starts to pucker. Good drink, not sure it’s spot on for style.

Pour is a light brown with a small white head. Aroma is a decent caramel malt. Flavor is again more caramel malt with some earthy tones. Finish is sweet and grainy. This is a BDG? More of an English bitter. Still it does have a few things going for it but its not a good rep of the style

Bottle at Sugar Maple tasting. Pours copper/orange with small OW head. Aroma with hints of citrus, caramel malt, and some understated floral notes. Flavor similar with abundant grassy notes and crisp finish. No EtOH to speak of. It was just OK for me; I don’t think I would seek this out.

Bottle. Poured a clear dark orange color. The head was tall of off white with good retention and lacing. Smelled of toffee, raisin, dark grape, and a dash of cinnamon. Medium bodied and delicately sweet. Fresh cereal grain flavor masked by spices, a splash of red wine, and rum soaked pear. Without knowing anything about the style or where it was brewed, my wife summed it up as "kind of a fruity Miller Lite".

Hazy copper color with a foamy off white head. Yeast aroma with a hint of citrus. Light caramel malt flavor with a rich body and a tangy aftertaste.
