12 oz bottle procured from a February trip to the brewery (Milwaukee, WI). Pours a nice dark deep brown, with black and ruby notes on the edges, and moderate tannish bubbly head that dissipates to a small amount and laces a bit. Aromas have some nice dry stout effect: soda bread, vanilla, light cocoa and coffee, with subtle roast and good dryness overall. Iniviting. Initial has a good body, pushing soda bread and vanilla flavors up front with light bitterness from the roast. Light sweetness, and preaching vanilla anc reaminess over chocolate, with decent roast for the style, and light coffee. A faint bitterness from the roast and coffee remain in the aftertaste and on the palate. The light sweetness is nice, as it moves to a roast and dryness towards the backend. Pretty good sessioner I think, but a bit forgettable overall.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Slightly sweet roasted malt aroma. Body is a little thinner than you might expect and the taste is rather bitter. Flavor has slight hints of fruit, grains and chocolate.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown, near black body with a tall, foamy, khaki-colored head. Smell: Roasted grain nose with light notes of licorice and Whoppers malted milk balls. Taste: Washed out roasted malt flavors with a faint, fleeting sweetness. Meager hint of fruit. Mild earthy bitterness. Same ole same ole until the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Drinkability: A bit forgettable. A passable dry stout, I suppose, but it comes up far, far short in overall character and complexities.

Draft at Barcade. Pours a black body with a tan head. Dry sweet light minerals and chocolate notes. Very dry a bit boring and thin with a light coffee and earth finish.

Tap at Barcade. Pours a deep brownish black with a thin head. Aroma is nutty, toasty, chocolate and light roastyness- slight herbal and a bit DMS. Roasty, with some coffee, a bit stale though in the flavor- some bittersweet chocolate- herbs, earth, toasty, and a bit thin drinking. Meh.

I’m not sure if I had a bad batch or what, but I could barely drink this. The syrupy body of a cola with a sour flavor.

almost black under a small, quickly dimishing, tan head. nice creamed coffee, milk chocolate aroma. flavor is creamy coffee and roasted malts with touch caramel in the finish. light to medium boded. a little too carbonated for the style but still a bit underrated.

Poured a thick dark black colour with a full tan frothy head. Decent lacing all around the glass. Aroma is rich with milk chocolate, coffee and espresso notes. Hint of toffee as well. Taste is pleasent, light and fun but slightly metallicy in the finish. Nice beer.
