| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Nearly opaque black with a thin tan head. Aroma of brown sugar and roasted malt. Flavor is a bit thin up front, but comes through in the finsh, which is somewhat sweeter than most dry stouts. Roasted coffee and caramel are the main flavor components. Find of thin bodied and overly carbonated for my taste. esjaygee (1519), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 16, 2008 12oz bottle. Very roasted aroma, color is very dark reddish-brown and comes with a medium style head that hangs around for a spell before it’s on to different things. Smokey taste prevails over everything… but I like. A tad watery and dry and perhaps a little acidic. Not a very strong flavor but an intriguing quality brew thanks to a trade from DD. ratman197 (3191), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours cola brown with hints of red color throughout, and a small tan colored head. Weak, simple but decent nose of light roast, some caramel, some candied plum, and some sweet resinous coffee and almond liquer. Very smooth but thin body, with light roast, light fruit, some drying char over the middle, finishing dry, woody and charred, but not very deep or complex. A bit of a simple beer. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 5, 2008 A pretty good Irish Stout, which is perhaps not the sexiest thing in the world. This beer is dark in appearance but light and dry in flavor and mouthfeel.
This beer’s appearance is dark in color with a cm or two of light tan head. Aroma is roasty and dry. Flavor is rather intensely roasty with a very thin mouthfeel.
Not a bad brew, but I can’t say I’ll be searching it out again anytime soon. I’d recommend it to try, but I believe you’ll come to the same conclusion. Paired nice with some gruyere though. demdeac40 (240), Etowah, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Pours black with a medium coffee colored head. The nose is liquid smoke and dark roast. The smokiness overpowers most everything else. Not as heavy on the palate as I would have suspected. The flavor is dark malt, smoke with a touch of bleu or gorgonzola cheese. Finishes fairly clean with little aftertaste. Skyview (4022), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 2, 2008 Picked up a six pack at Blue Nile in Burnsville, Minnesota. Pours a clear dark brown brew with a thick light beige head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, chocolate, coffee and light molasses with some flowery hops. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with a toasted dark malt with some slight blue cheese flavor. Finish is slightly dry with some metallic character with a lingering toasted malt aftertaste.
