Jan 30, 2007 Bottled. An almost pitch black beer with a faint red shine under a lacing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of coffee. The flavor is sweet roasted combined with notes of cocoa, leading to a dry end with light notes of coffee. The body is a bit thin.

Jul 13, 2007 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Pours completely black and opaque with a handsome, tall, dense light brown head leaving some lacework. Tart but also burned aroma. Rather thin in body with very burned, ashy malt notes. The finish is dry. Not bad. 080707

Jan 31, 2007 Bottle. Black colour with a medium brown head. The aroma is of vanilla, chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is roasted, vanilla and chocolate, a bit sweet. Medium body with a light dry finish.

May 19, 2008 (12oz bottle, bottled 3rd week, Feb.) Small and creamy beige head that mostly dissipates, atop brown-black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, molasses, coffee, some chocolate syrup, roast. Taste evidences infection, as the sourness overwhelms the hint of chocolate left behind -- I seriously consider my 2/10 score for flavor to be an act of charity. Bummer.
