Lakefront is one of those brewers where all their beers are decent but nothing really stands out. This Stout is along those parameters. Dark brown color (not quite opaque) with a medium thin light brown head. Thin and sticky lacing. The aroma is nice and roasty with coffee and cocoa. Medium-bodied (just a little thin for the style) with lots of coffee and a little chocolate in the flavor. The finish is dry and mildly roasty. Overall a fair offering. The components for an exeptional Dry Stout are all here, it just needs a little more oomph. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA

Quite dry with some coffee notes and a hint of dark chocolate. An enjoyable stout with some noticeable bitterness. Fairly thick. Good. aracauna (2427), Georgia, USA

The aroma has a nice roast and the flavor puts up a nice bit of anise. This is a bit like eating a spiced molasses cookie. Not a bad little stout. howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA

Roasty, well balanced flavors. Creamy light to medium mouthfeel. This is exactly what it tries to be and gets points for that. Unfortunately, the dry Irish stout does little to excite anyone's palate these days. FROTHINGSLOSH (2047), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized dark brown head. The aroma was dry roasty and toasty malts. The flavor was dryish roasty malts with an element reminiscent of malted milk balls. The beer turned slightly sweet towards the finish. The body was fairly thick and smooth. Nice. Mouthfeel was thin for the style but the flavor still managed to come throug--albeit in a session-y manner. Tasty snack for less than 6 for a 6-pack. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

Aroma is full of roastey and burnt malts. Coffee is big as well and a slight chocolate sweetness. Black with a diminishing two finger thick mocha head. Fore is thin and watery, but some coffee and roasted malt pops out but it, naturally, comes off as watery coffee. Finish is a bit tinny as well, but it has a nice bitterness that lingers and while it needs to be a lot thicker it has the base flavor down...it just needs a lot more concentration of that flavor.
