TheDean (784), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 22, 2003 Well, I've done the Lakefront tour about a 100 times, but I never stopped at The Nomad to have this beer afterward (if you are familiar with Milwaukee bars, you know that Wolski's is the BEST bar in Milwaukee, and choosing between that and Nomad is no contest). So stopped in after the tour today and finally tried this. It's a beautiful little red. While Wolski's is still the coolest bar in Milwaukee, Nomad gained some after Lakefront points just for this beer. JPDIPSO (4221), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Sep 6, 2002 Clear dark amber orange color with a deep tan head that evaporates quite quickly. Dark caramel aroma. Alcohol aroma takes over as it warms. Flavors of caramel and slight toasty/nutty flavor. Finishes with a slight off bitter taste. Overall one of the better reds I have had. prosqtor (407), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Aug 5, 2007 Pretty plain, eminently drinkable beer from one of my favorite bars in Milwaukee. Nice red color with basically no head. balke_13 (156), MIssoula, Montana, USA Feb 7, 2005 On tap @ The Nomad. Stopped in after the Lakefront tour. Great dark red lager that pours exactly that. Commercial description holds true to this one...not too malty and not too bitter, right in between. But it has some character and flavor to it unlike some other darker lagers I’ve tried. Better as it warms as some carmel and toffee flavors come through and also gives the hops their chance to shine. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jul 17, 2004 Enjoyed on tap outside the Nomad whilst watching people and listening to a guy play the harmonica. Red/orange or mahogany body. Light-brown cremy head. Light hoppiness in aroma is hard to detect. Overall taste is a sweet fruity bitterness with a touch of caramel and coffee. Bitterness seems to come from lemony hops. Also gives me some nice hoppy burps. Pretty good overall... better than I expected.
