2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This one poured hazy with the foamy head as advertised. Malt was definitely bread-like, balanced by a grass-floral combo of hops. An OK session brew. Nothing stuck out vs. the advertised fruity ale yeast.

Nice and refreshing. A little sweeter than the other wheat from the same sesion. Nice aroma and aftertaste smooth.

Bottle from Ashur Liquor in a variety 8 pack. Created a thin soapy layer of foamed head while the liquid was a clear and golden piss color. As for the aroma, there is only a hint of wheat and some cheap ass yeast which alerts me that this beer is going to really suck. I guessed correctly, since the flavor is plain and only has a minimum taste of grassy hops and cheap grained barley that just doesn’t make the grade. The bottle label and logo were cool though.

Pours a hazy, medium straw color. Small white head. Aroma finds light wheat, plenty of grain/dough, honey. Flavor much the same, but a bit sweeter, more citrusy notes. Light, crisp, creamy, and refreshing. Mild dryness. A good backyard beer.

Wheaty, citrus, maybe a little barnyard, basement. Taste is light, wheat, some citrus. Alright for a wheat beer, a little disappointing. Something you could drink all day and boy think much of.

Not bad for a light beer. I’ve had better wheats, but I’ve had worse, as well. I might buy again.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
DATE TASTED: January 25, 2014... GLASSWARE: 22 oz. pilsner...OCCASION: finishing Clash of Kings, I believe... APPEARANCE: hazy, bubbly, thin-headed sallow gold body; nondescript otherwise; no lacing... AROMA: somewhat pungent, lemon dish detergent scent; some lager malts provide a backbone; slightest banana and apple... PALATE: medium-bodied slightly effervescent; almost sudsy in its aftertaste--fizzy...TASTE: such subtle flavors--lightly lemon; predominantly metallic ping akin to a pilsner; lacking a refreshing, clean drag--just dragging... OVERALL: I understand the attempt is a wheat ale, but Wheat Monkey straddles the styles without pulling the better elements of either into my mouth; instead, it’s more like monkeying around, making use of a playful label and silly enough name to attract attention--by far the weakest of what was a successful mix pack...

Pours a hazy yellow with a smallish head. Slight aroma of citrus with some bready malts. Not a bad beer, but very pedestrian.

Blah. Not very sweet like a typical wheat and finishes with a very mild bitterness from its citrus ingredients. Trying to add a baked bread flavor to this one was a mistake. Pretty disappointing.
