Dark yellow pour, hazy, with a thick white head, very light, with orange, lemon, and clove. Finishes weak but clean. Good. Ughsmash (3999), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 14, 2006 On tap at The Nomad as "Trocadero White". Poured a hazy amber with a long-lasting cap of white head. Nose was enjoyable, sporting plenty of spices (coriander and orange zest come to mind), wheat, and mild cobwebby yeast. Flavor was much the same, blending those components well... also picked up cereal malts. Almost too carbonated, but held it together. Very good stuff. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 24, 2006 Pretty stuff, bright, slightly hazy straw gold with a puffy white head. Nose spice, bit of drain cleaner, some lemon. Flavor VERY lemony, bit syrupy, kind of odd but not particularly unpleasant. Some spice/clove, rather yeasty. Cookieish at the end. Bit thick and syrupy. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 23, 2006 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with footbalm, thanks Eric!) Brewed the end of March 2005 (ten months ago). The aroma seems more lemony than orange peel, and I’m not really picking up on the coriander. Crisp, tart flavor also suggest lemons rather than oranges. Other flavors such as coriander and wheat malts are milder and definitely reside in the background initially, with the coriander picking up a bit more presence toward the finish. Light bodied, crisp and clean, nicely carbonated, refreshing on the palate. Pours an attractive, lemony-yellow body, fairly hazy, accented by a few steady streams of small carbonation bubbles, but the white head is very small and quickly turns into a dusting atop the beer, and then nothing. Decent enough, and pretty easy to drink, but it’s awfully lemony for a witbier, and in fact really doesn’t even remind me of a witbier. It just getting a bit close to a light wheat beer with a slice of lemon. Probably a really good beer to drink while playing competitive outdoor volleyball in the hot sun. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2005 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy quite pale straw-yellow with persistent white head. Faint aroma of hop spice and coriander. Flavor is thin, musty, clove spice, coriander, and faint orange peel. Thin palate and mouthfeel. Supplies the bare basics of a witbier and stops there, aspiring to achieve nothing more. dhlesq (233), Thousand Oaks, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 22, 2005 Aroma of wit yeast, coriander, slight orange peel, mild white pepper. Appears a slightly hazy slightly pale yellow, with a nice white head that disappears quickly. Flavor is spicy, peppery, malty, very refreshing. Palate is light and refreshing as well, and carries the peppery notes straight through. Overall, this is a very good, though not excellent representation of the witbier style, and it is equal to the sum of its parts. My thanks to joeybgood for this tasty brew. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 14, 2005 Pours cloudy pale yellow with minimal white head. Aroma of corriander, soapy lemon. I haven’t tried lemon dishsoap, but this must be what it tastes like. Thin, watery palate.
