Medium-light body is dominated by spice and a soft, non-hop bitterness. The finish does not carry on too long and makes you want to drink more...if only I could get over the hot dog thing. As with everything from Lakefront it is incredibly well-balanced and the recipe formulation is on, but they have to get rid of the domestic coriander. Gurst (338), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 24, 2005 Pours a very fizzy, white head while the body is golden and a little cloudy. Smells like champagne and sweet cereal. Taste is very much like champagne, and the the fizziness adds to this resemblance. Some lighter tastes; pear, spice, sugar, and even lighter hints of pepper, bitter floral, and citrus. Body is wet, if not a little too thin. I should really like this beer, but I feel let down somehow. Tmoney99 (4718), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 22, 2005 First brew from this brewery. Bottle 12oz. Hazy amber with medium white head that dissipates quickly. Complex aroma of wheat and citrus. Medium body with wheat smooth texture. Full flavor of wheat, citrus and spices with a medium sweet finish. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 21, 2005 Vanilla, leafy tobacco, oranges, wheat and spices in the nose. Hazy yellow-gold with a decent white head that recedes slowly to ring. Citrus character and perfumey vanilla follow through to the strong wheat flavour but eventually make way for some coriander and orange. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Sampled at Mondial de la Bière 2005. MartinT (5050), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 6, 2005 The Lure: A thick head hangs on the spicy hops and crisp wheat. Well-balanced, delicately presented, these orange peels and citrusy fruitiness convince a big swig.
The Festivities: Again, a surprising spicy hop touch on the plentiful wheat. Sweet and citrusy spices are subdued in a bulky body for the style. Dry in the end, and ultimately a flavorful quencher.
Transcendence: Vibrant estival moments refresh the mind, in whatever form they take. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2005 Very nice white head covers a light golden hue with plenty of carbonation. Great wit nose with plenty of grainy coriander, orange peel, herbal and very seedy flavours. Smooth and fresh aromatics keep on the palate, which is rather sweet at most and literally runs at you with a blast of paradise grains and cereal flavours, but it quickly empties its ammunitions and leave you with a duller lemony citrus character and a faint almost smoky finish, but the global complexity never comes close to that of the nose. Sharp palate with almost aggressive carbonation. sfontain (506), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 21, 2005 Golden color with a white, frothy head; light lacing. Unfiltered? I can’t see *any* solids in this beer until holding it up to bright sunlight, and even then they are miniscule. The coriander is apparent in the aroma, along with citrus and wheat. Flavor is light with coriander and yeast; very sour; finish is impressively wheaty. Quite thin. Unimpressive wit. SledgeJr (2960), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | Apr 30, 2005 In the bottle. First, I rolled the bottle several times on its side in order to get all the yeast mixed up into the beer during the pour. The big dots of yeast sludge easily went into solution. The resultant pour came out to be a dark gold opaque color with a big bubbly head. The head lasted throughout the drink. Citrus aroma. The flavor was so acidic and tart that it was almost undrinkable. Extreme grapefruit sourness, and not the type that comes from hops. This is possibly the most sour beer I’ve ever tasted. No balance in terms of malt sweetness or hop bitterness. All tart, all the time. Extreme, to say the least.
