COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wisconsinite: the most Wisconsin beer ever! Made with 100% Wisconsin-grown malted barley, wheat, and hops, including a unique, first-of-its-kind, never before fermented, indigenous Wisconsin yeast strain. It pours a hazy, unfiltered, straw color with a fine white head. The mild clove, banana, and citrus aromas from the Wisconsin yeast go well with the malty sweetness and fresh baked wheat bread flavors. With its light body and lively effervescence, Wisconsinite is a refreshing summer session beer.

12 oz bottle. (Lakefront Brewery) Milwaukee, WI.
Clear golden colour with an average sized frothy white head. Wheat, yeast, fruity hops and mild bitterness. The aroma is like American Wheat Ale aroma. Yeast, mild wheat and some fruitiness in the flavour. Very much American Wheat Ale.

Cloudy pour with white head. Like many beers in this style this has a flavor of rotting bananas. I had this on tap while touring the brewery.

9/22/13. 1st beer from an 8 pack bought at Roger Wico and drank lakeside at LL. Would've been a nice refreshing summer beer if I wander freezing in late September. Pale golden color. Smells of banana and clove, mild citrus. Flavor follows the nose Finishes on a refreshing fruity note. Very nice, I'm a fan. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very light beer with an effervescent character. The aroma has some citrus character also. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught sample@source during & after brewery tour 23viii13. More like a spiced light wit than a creamy Weisse. Tart wheats as in Berliner Weisse, some sweetness as in Blanche de Namur. Attenuated yeast, yet slightly oily. Careless like summer.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/1/13

Aroma: The nose is heavy on the clove/spices, with lots of yeast, banana notes, and some lemon
Appearance: It pours a golden color with a fizzy white head and lots of movement in the glass
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet, heavily spiced, with wheat and fruit notes, and a light tartness
Palate: The body is light-medium, with a fizzy carbonation, and a long, tingly finish on the mouth
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid hefe. The flavors, particularly the clove/spice, are quite pronounced. There’s nothing crazy going on here, and the over-carbonation hurts the drinkability a bit, but overall, I thought this was a decent example of the style.

12 oz bottle with only the WK3 marked on the label, but certainly from 2013. Pours hazy golden with a towering, and over-zealous head that quickly dies to a top coat. Somewhat unappealing aroma, although this is my usual reaction to this style. There’s less over-ripe banana and more lemon here than usual, but still a bit of barnyard and too much soapy floral aroma. The smell didn’t improve with warming. The taste is better, with mainly a tart citrus-wheat flavor. Lively carbonation in a fairly light bodied beer.

Bottle, my 4300th rating. Slimy yeasty-wheaty nose with lemon and light but pleasant esters, touch of vanilla. Gradient yellow-golden pour with a big sudsy bright white head. Effervescent medium body, perhaps a bit too fizzy, light minerally bitterness, very mild sweetness that is just enough for repetition. Smooth but a little slimy, clove coming through nicely and their even getting some nice pretzel at the end. Pleasant wheat character, light spice, clean yeast, very impressed.

Overly active pour from a 12 oz. bottle to a Czech-pils type fest glass. After a number of careful pours, waited quite awhile for a good aroma read. Displayed a clear, golden color, with billowy, lasting head foam, and wavy cling to the lacing. The aroma was light tartness, citrus, mild spice, a hint of banana, light grain, and sweet biscuit/wafer notes. Light bodied, with lively effervescence, the flavor was tart & dry, lemony citrus, not very noticeable banana, but a good deal of clovey hints, especially as it warmed, and low hop bitterness. More of a summer Wit with some Hefe characteristics. Nevertheless, a refreshing, summer sessionable.

Bottled March 21, 2013.
Appearance: The body is lightly hazy with a golden to amber hue, the head is tall and fluffy, slowly settling into a dense white coating.
Aroma: The aroma is a complex medley of tart lemon, grass, unripened banana, and hints of cloves and an earthy presence.
Taste: Clean straw and light lemon tartness greet the tongue first and sticking through to the finish, hints of unripened banana and a mild clove presence are noticeable towards the end of the mid-taste along with hints of orange. Clean and drinkable, but mild.
Palate: Light and crisp bodied, lots of carbonation.
Overall: This isn’t an astonishing hefeweizen, it’s a bit too clean and mild for my liking, but it’s 4.2% and it’s very refreshing. Certainly a good beer, but it won’t stand up to the likes of Sierra Nevada’s Kellerweis.
