COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lakemaid Beer is a limited release brew from August Schell Brewing Company and Rapala. Brewed in Schell’s old world tradition, this classic American lager is a crisp, clean, refreshing beer, specially brewed to capture the flavor of the fishing country were the legendary Lakemaids swim. With a mild malt flavor like a soft summer breeze and the sparkle of hops that dances like sun on the water, this is the ice cold beer with a taste so good it proves that great fishermen never need to exaggerate.

Blonde gold body, with a dank beer-sopped bar aroma swiftly smashing the nose. A slight hint of garbage. The body is fairly breezy with some hop bitterness. Thinnish moutfhfeel. A spritz of sulfur on the finish.

12oz bottle to pint glass. Pours nice golden color, with very slight aroma. Skimps even more on the taste, I found it to be very plain and almost "macro-light" tasting. Great labels, and historic brewery, but just a plain beer maybe o.k. for a steaming hot summer day.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold with white head. Aroma of malt, light grain and balanced hop. Flavor is much the same. Light body with high carbonation. Overall, not a bad pale lager at all! Enjoyed.

Slight crisp hoppiness to it, other than that the same old pale lager that’s been made numerous times.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2014 Just a stupidly branded adjunct lager. Teh taste is of corn and mineral water.

Poured a semi-dark gold with a light head which faded quickly to lace. Aroma was slightly sweet with malts and corn predominating. Taste of similar - malt and corn - with a slightly sweet hint and a very mild hop finish. Mouth feel was acceptable. Overall, not a bad ’fishing’ brew, as it is marketed as. I could potential re-purchase as ’lawnmower’ or ’fishing’ beer but that would be about it.

Golden color. I expected a little more from this beer. Nothing more than a watered down beer you find at any bar. Great to drink when your on a boat and it is a 100 degrees outside.

Pours pale yellow gold with a 2-3 finger chunky white head that has good retention. Aroma is cereal grain, dry corn, light fusel notes and hints of planty hops. Flavor is lightly toasty cereal grain, light sweet corn, crisp mineral notes, straw and light spicy hops, a little iron to the finish. Palate is light bodied with an ever so slightly slick entry, neutral finish and moderate carbonaiton. The aroma didn’t leave me expecting much, but I was nicely suprised. This is a tasty, refreshing pale lager. Definitely one of the best I have had.

bottle, pours light yellow with a pilowy white head. Aroma is all corn and cereal grains. Flavor is the same with tons of corn and grass. Eh.

Nice golden color, small head that faded quickly leaving nothing behind. The aroma was grainy some mild hops in the background. The flavor was nothing special, grainy and cerealish with a faint atempt at hopping in the way way way back background. It could be a decent lawnmower brew if super cold but bring that temp up a bit and it’s a garbage pail taste.
