1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 13, 2008
2008-04-13. Yellow body with a tiny white head. Rough grainy malt aroma, prominent alcohol notes that imply a greater alcohol presence that indicated on the label. Similar rough grains in the flavour, more bitterness than I’d expect from a mainstream beer which is actually nice to see, more of the rough lightly astringent grains as seen in the aroma. Average palate is quite carbonated, and actually pretty solid by macro standards. (Which admittedly does not set a particularly high bar!) Managed to sample it before it warmed up and its not quite as bad as some of the other ratings might suggest. It has very little to offer though, and becomes increasingly hard to drink as the glass goes on, particularly as it gets warmer and releases some of the... nuances... of the flavour. Ok thats enough... Bottle courtesy of MrManning, shared with Mabel
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Radek Kliber (5308) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - APR 27, 2008
Bottle 341ml
Appearance: Clear , straight golden brew with medium light white top. Nose : Plain , grainy dusty aroma similar to sleeman ales. Light hint of hop spice with sugar dust. Flavor/Palate : Medium thin bodied. Fairly smooth with out excessive carbonation. Sure its light and simple as can be but it is also fairly drinkable. Light biter ending in sweet pale malt brew. No rocket science here I give you that but in discount beer category this is a steal.
1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 HogTownHarry (4872) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - APR 29, 2008
Bottle (341ml). From either MrManning or Matt7215 - not really sure. Gold pour with a large bright white frothy styrofoam-looking head and totally still looking after the pour settled (2+). Sweet aroma, honey, clover and a bit of paper. Taste - yeck - watered-down pvc and brown grocery bags, vaguely sweet and very harsh. Watery, still, harsh mouthfeel - not horrible, but easily avoided. Another winner - "thanks" Lakeport - at least you’re a friggin buck a bottle (rolls eyes).
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 blankboy (4454) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 30, 2008
Bottle courtesy of MrManning. Pours a very pale gold with a small diminishing fizzy white head. Aroma’s odd. It’s sweet, corny, vegetal and grainy -- that sounds like your typical Canadian buck-a-beer but there’s something about the sum of it’s parts that’s different and weird. I’ve honestly smelt much worse though, for one thing it’s pretty mild so that helps -- still, it’s not very nice. Flavour: Ehhh, it starts passable but a few sips in and I’m not loving it. There’s not much flavour at first but then it’s corn, grain, alcohol and an unpleasant finish. Light to medium bodied, sticky mouthfeel. Anyways, I’m done with this, down the drain the rest goes.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 4, 2008
[1292-20080413] 341mL bottle. Smells like alcoholic straw dipped in honeyed lake water. Clear, pale yellow body with quick foamy white bubbles. More hay grains and straw in the flavour. Suprisingly smooth light-medium body. Not as terrible as it smells.

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 GregClow (2667) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 18, 2008
Bottle courtesy of MrManning. Light golden with a good sized white head that disappears quickly. Nasty aroma that my wife described as smelling like "the floor of a dirty bar". Yeah, that pretty much covers it. Thin, sticky body. Flavour of overcooked veggies, cardboard and stale malt, with a nasty cloying aftertaste. Jesus, this is bad. I managed to choke down three mouthfuls before dumping it, and I think that was at least two too many...

341ml bottle pours a pale golden color with a small white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is light grains and hops. Taste is light malty sweet with a mild hop bitterness. Average macro lager.
0.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 garthicus (2089) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 20, 2008
Thanks to MrManning, right, here we go: light yellow, zero noticeable carbonation, zero head: Damp, musty aroma, kind of like a wet beermat (if you know what I mean?) taste: Bloody offensive, chemical, sour, cigarettes, the finish is just hideous too, kind of like the acidic feeling you get in your mouth before vomiting, yuck
**edit** 5 mins later, I am feeling ill and violated by this, to think I was drinking Hair of the Dog Adam 2 beers ago,
0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 MrManning (1945) - London, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 25, 2008
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2008 Sparkling gold pour, unleashes a short lived white fizz. Wet paper aroma, grains, tin, pepper, creamed corn, straw, pale malts. Somewhat sweet grains, vegetable broth, corn and slate sugary malts leading to a dextrin bite in the finish. This is a dirty beer. Lakeport makes so many beers like this already, but they are all lagers. I guess it makes sense to "brew an ale" and sell it for as buck a beer too. As an aside to the beer review, the packaging of this beer is the worst I have seen in years. Bright red box with a purple/blue swoosh that clashes like none other. Just carrying this six pack down the street might get you jumped.
