Originally rated September 2004. First of two reviews on Ontario, Canada brewed honey lagers. This one from Lakeport poured a golden-orange colour with a decent head that had little retention. Aromas were of malt with sweet hints. Had medium carbonation. Started off slightly bitter, and then finished on a mild honey note. This brew had lots of marketing behind it, being a buck a bottle (canadian funds) which is cheap here. This resulted in being in the top 10 sellers in Ontario (The Beer Store). O.K. That doesn’t say much, but this beer is pretty good for summer.

Not much of a honey taste....not like I like honey in beers anyways, it belongs on toast or something like that!

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2004 Pours a golden colour with a thin head; honey/floral bouquet; faintly sweet, honey flavour but not as strong as you'd expect. Still, it's cheap (very cheap) and inoffensive and goes down easy. And it's cheap. (341ml bottle)

A nice alternative to the big brewery lagers. A nice golden appearance but with minimal head produced. A hint of honey aroma present but it is not so evident in the taste, which is disappointing. A solid honey lager but it could be much better.

Strange that I did not find it that bad. I liked the honey taste in it, very slight but it was there. not annoying and didn’t have bad time.

Generally speaking, this isn’t a particularly tasty beer. However, being as cheap as it is, it appeals to myself and others of my age for the task of getting drunk.

Decent enough for taking to a Superbowl party etc. Not much head but still goes down easily. Extra points for price.
