1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 WheatKing (197) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 29, 2012
I used to drink this all the time. If you closed your eyes and sipped it, you might not know there’s honey in there, just that it’s a sweet lager. I wish I could comment on the appearance, but I don’t recall ever seeing this outside of the can, so I’ll just give that an "average" score to be fair. Smells of sweet vomit. Women like it. Just kidding, if you serve it they’ll think you’re cheap.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 15, 2012
Originally rated September 2004. First of two reviews on Ontario, Canada brewed honey lagers. This one from Lakeport poured a golden-orange colour with a decent head that had little retention. Aromas were of malt with sweet hints. Had medium carbonation. Started off slightly bitter, and then finished on a mild honey note. This brew had lots of marketing behind it, being a buck a bottle (canadian funds) which is cheap here. This resulted in being in the top 10 sellers in Ontario (The Beer Store). O.K. That doesn’t say much, but this beer is pretty good for summer.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 reebtogi (2197) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 14, 2012
473ml can pours a pale golden color with a small white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is cheap grains and hops. Taste is malty sweet with a terrible bitter aftertaste. Not good and not recommended.

Pretty much as you’d expect from a discount brewer. Not much here but it is my preference of the macro honey lagers.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 HeistAlmighty (546) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 7, 2011
341ml bottle. Had this one ages ago. Old notes say "drinkable." It doesn’t really stand out amongst the other buck-a-beers.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 pushkinwow (871) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 21, 2011
341ml bottle. Served very cold - probably helped, and really its gota be from the bottle. Its cheap and not terrible. Its very sweet, not terribly great, not complex, off after taste. But all that being said its still better then some of the swill out there (and its brewed in my old hometown so...)
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 JoeMcPhee (6967) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 16, 2011
Pale golden pour. The nose is industrially grainy. Just a light-bodied, thin and grainy beer. Very macroish and not very good. Buh.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Spab (1196) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 18, 2011
473 ml can from LCBO. Pours a clear orange/gold with small white head that disappears fairly quickly. Bland aroma of generic sweetness and grains. Flavour is sweet, only vaguely honeyish with harsh grains. Nothing in the way of finish. Body is on the thin side but not ridiculously so. Could be worse.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 rylaad (47) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 12, 2011
Probably the worst brand of discount beer, can hardly taste the honey. Leaves a weird feeling in your mouth, like a weird slimy feeling, maybe that is the honey part.
0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 Hammy78 (490) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 16, 2011
330ml bottle sample purchased at Lakeport brewery. I’m not going to do a full fledged review for this. If you’ve had regular Lakeport, this is pretty much the exact same thing.
