probstblueribbon (2418) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 1, 2010
341 ml bottle in the singles basket at LCBO, served almost cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear light golden with a so-so white foam. Aroma: Cooked grains /cereals, a slight vegetal note?, a touch of vague fruitiness and a touch of vague hopiness (awww, it matches). Palate: Medium body, medium carbonation. Flav.: Pretty lacklustre, to say the least; weak cereal/grain and fruitiness, no discernable hop presence; dry with no bitterness to speak of and a fairly flat, very slightly fruity finish.

I’ll taker a Laker, should I wind up in Hell with only those two choices...

This beer has decent flavour and I do enjoy sitting back and having a lakeport once in a while

Can- Pours a light golden color with a head that fades quickly. Light grain aroma with a hint of sweetness. Generic, unoffensive beer, clean finish. Light body fairly smooth. Better than I expected. Good for more than one and can’t beat the price.

33 cl bottle, Mulmur, ON, Canada. Pale yellow, faint spicy aroma. More carbonation than flavor, some sweetness on the finish.

So I just finished rating Brava Cerveza by the same brewer. I had stated that it wasn’t godaweful, but was it was pretty uninspiring. This beer was godaweful, ecliped only by the awefullness of Laker Ice that we opened immediately after pouring out this one.

341ml bottle. Pours yellow with a thin white head. Leftover from a party. Here we go...faint aromas of treacle, apple, faint skunk. Surprisingly, it doesn’t taste as horrible as I was expecting either. Mild sweetness, alcohol, grassy, clumsy bitter finish, with a unpleasant after taste of cirtus pith, and metal.

Spab (1688) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 21, 2009
473 ml can from LCBO. Pours a clear yellow gold with moderate, but quickly disappearing white head. Nose isn’t totally terrible at first - some grass and sweet grains, but turns ugly as it warms. Taste is fairly typically macro - mostly grainy/corny but with a touch of grassiness giving a hint of a bitter finish. Pretty bland.

DerWeg (1402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 11, 2009
Very pale with fizzy head and carbonation. Smells sweet with grainy notes and corn. Tastes sweet with a bit of soapy feel, some grape and melon, barely a touch touch of bitter hops. Not a pilsner but not a drainpour for its humble class. 2.1

Light straw colour, with a thin white head. A bit skunky smell. Taste is pretty horrid. Skunk and bitter. Shouldn’t expect anything different from 24 fro $24.

Poured from bottle. Light straw color, with thin head that was sort of ’fizzy’. Grainy smell. Decent flavor with an o.k (for me) after taste. Tough one to grade, as it is a value beer, so what do you expect? For a value beer, this is one of the better ones, but if you can spend a little extra, then definitely buy something else.
